Subject: ResMed S-9: SmartStop feature
I just got a new ResMed S-9 that has a feature called SmartStop: It
senses the air pressure and turns off if there is a significant
leakage. It also refuses to turn on unless the mask is in place and
turns itself off if I remove the mask. I have no use for such a
feature and find it a pain in the butt. I just want to turn the $%^&
thing on and have it stay on.

The user's manual says the feature can be disabled, but doesn't say
how. There is nothing in the Setup screen about it.

Anyone know how to do it?

Probabaly need to swap it back to a CPAP rather than APAP. That is the
way it worked in older machines.

What's an APAP? To the best of my knowledge, this is a CPAP. Do you
mean a different setting or a different machine?

Then you probably can not change it. It is basically mean to pressurise
a human airway and not act as a general purpose blower.
