1) Ask a girl out.
2) Lose some weight.
3) Start learning german or french on my own.
4) Fight against my perennial laziness and excessive concern about
what others think of me.
5) Use my free time in more productive ways.
And the essential one:
6) Have enough willpower to carry out my resolutions and not forget
about this list a week after the year has started.
Now let´s see yours.
I never bother with New Year Resolutions. But if I have to have one
then it's 'Get out of the house more'
After a rough patch in early spring, my life has taken an definate turn
for the better. I attribute a LOT^H^H^H all of this to the fact that I
have found a church with a doctrine I can relate to that is full of
nonjudgemental, uncritical, positive and supportive people. (This is
coming from a person who is a Carl Sagan fanboy!) However, I still have
some work to do.
1) Return to my excercise routine to increase endurance and overall
strength. By my birthday in May, I will have a noticable increase in
definition to my chest, shoulders and abdomen.
2) Design and maintain a high protien, low fat diet that will improve my
overall health and energy level.
3) Write and stick to a budget. My goal is that by March, to have all
the money I need for next month's bills by the first of that month. Also
I will not procrastinate on paying bills and get them taken care of
before they are due. One way I will accomplish this is to set up
automatic bill payments through my credit union.
4) Continue my volunteer work at the hospital and also to seek other
ways to help out in the community. This not only will make me feel good,
it will provide opportunities to meet other like minded people. (In the
past, I haven't always surrounded myself with positive people)
5) Continue to step out of my comfort zone in terms of talking to people
that I don't know or don't know well. (an example is today, my
neighbor's daughter and s.i.l. were on her front porch when I came home.
He said hi. I returned the greeting and went into the house. I was
annoyed with myself for not talking to them, so I went back outside and
had a really pleasant 30 minute conversation with them. My neighbor has
been in a nursing home for quite some time with some dementia, but her
daughter said she asked about me. I am going to take some time while I
am off work to go visit her. I haven't known her for very long, but I
have always thought highly of her)
6) Strive to get plenty of sleep every night and to avoid the temptation
to stay up late reading or playing around on the internet. Getting
plenty of rest will give me more energy, help keep my immune system
strong, and allow me to start everyday in a positive frame of mind.
7) This is kind of tied up with my other resolutions, but I resolve to
break my habit of procrastination. I often find myself thinking "I'll do
it later" In the future I will use that thought as a prompt to check
myself and remember my priorities. Usually the things I "will do later"
are things that will take a few minutes at most and once I do them, I
wonder what the big deal was.
I think 7 resolutions are plenty for one year. All of them are easily
attainable and I know that I can and will make them happen.

The other thread is things I want to happen. Some which I don't have
any control of.

LOL, I´ll have to add this one if I wanna carry out # 1 and specially
# 2.
> I think 7 resolutions are plenty for one year.
Nice list. I´ll add to mine your resulutions # 5 # 6 and # 7. # 6 will
be HARD to acomplish, I know that for damm sure, LOL.
> All of them are easily attainable and I know that I can and will make them happen.
That´s the spirit! ;-)

I´m doing OK with resolution # 5 #. But I still have to make a greater
effort. The other resolutions I haven´t started to work on them, but
soon I will.
How about yours?.
Better late than never: I resolve to beat, bludgeon, rape, and kill(no
respect to order) more females this year(which would be quite an
impressive feat, considering last year).
Since you asked...
