Next year might be a tough one for me. I'm going to lose my
disability insurance, which will require finding a job, though
I've been told by my psychiatrist and psychologist that there's no

Ouch. Can't you apply for SSI/SSDI? I know you said you hadn't paid
into the system because of where you worked, but it seems to me that
you could at least get SSI. People who have never worked (and
therefore have never paid into the system), can get SSI,....

My husband makes too much, and we have equity in the house.
Unfortunately, they don't take debt load into consideration. We
won't be able to pay the bills if I don't have income.

Ah, o.k. That makes sense now. House equity doesn't always count for
an individual person (they have to have a place to live), but your
husbands income would count against you for sure. Bummer. Too bad
your disability insurance runs out. Of course, at some point I'm
convinced social security may run out, and then I'd be screwed too...
