Stuff came at me fast and furious until I completely shut down my
emotions. Can't feel anything at all. Now there's no suicidal or
self-harmful urges. All gone. Due to happenings beyond my control,
I won't be able to start on my new meds until the 16th, as opposed
to the scheduled last Tuesday. I'm a bit afraid of what will
happen when the meds start to kick in and I open up again. If it
happens too fast, I'll be flooded and in real trouble. But for
now, life is easy.

Hmm... Well, I'm glad you've stopped cutting and that life is easier
for you right now. Hopefully the new meds will help, and you can
weather the opening up of emotions without too much damage. Perhaps
you can schedule extra therapy sessions ahead of time to be prepared,
or even make an intake appointment with the partial program, just in
case, so that you don't get stuck needing to be there and not being
able to get in? I know you were just there, and maybe insurance won't
cover another visit so soon, but who knows. However, since you know
it may be a problem, you can do some things now to prepare for it.
But, yes, when the meds are just beginning to work, but aren't fully
on board, it can be a dangerous time. (just like when switching from a
depression to a mania...) I am sending good thoughts your way, and am
glad things are easing up.
