Hey Wes,
Sent you an email but got an error message that you were without a computer
at the moment. If you see this, post a reply and I'll upload my email to
you.
Take it easy...

I think tricyclics have been known to help with OCD. But the
antidepressants that most often improve OCD are the SSRI class, such as
Prozac (fluoxetine) and Zoloft (sertraline). They're also supposed to have
fewer side effects than the tricyclics. I don't think they're known for any
effect on migraines, though. You might ask your doctor.
The most effective known treatment for OCD, even better than SSRIs, is
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. If you haven't already tried that, you
probably should. You can do CBT while on medication if need be - in fact
the medication often makes it easier to make progress with the CBT. There's
a good article describing CBT at http://www.ocduk.org/2/cbt.htm . With
something like OCD it's best to find a qualified CBT therapist, if possible
one with specific knowledge of OCD. But if you can't manage that, there are
self-help books about CBT for OCD which have helped some people. There's a
list of some at http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/support-info/resources/books/ .
Hope this helps. Do reply if you can manage it, won't you?

I don't check that account very often, so tell me on the newsgroup if you've
sent me an e-mail.
Ah, I see. Shame. We don't have that problem in England, thank goodness.
What country are you in?
Me, I'm getting nowhere by CBT methods at the moment (it happens
occasionally) and my OCD won't let me take antidepressants. So I'm going to
try homoeopathy. I know several people who say it did wonders for their
OCD.
First appointment on Wednesday evening. Fingers crossed.
Wish you luck, anyway. Do post any time you think it might help.
Hello! I too have had OCD and GAD since childhood. I also have very bad
chronic daily headaches.
For quite a while, Effexor and Depakote dealth with my depression, OCD/GAD,
and headaches pretty well; I just had some problems with being sleepy. For
some reason, the headaches are back, so my neurologist and I are trying
other things.
You might want to visit alt support headaches migraine on USENET. I was
there for a long time and it was quite good, though I don't know what it's
like now.
I'm also on alt support anxiety-panic moderated , and it's good for all
types of anxiety disorders.
I don't have a lot of time ATM but I could share more by e-mail.
Dennis
