Does anyone have thoghts on why it took so long before US media
reported Dr. Zamboni's theory and his small study? It was not until
pressure by patients that caused the MS society to move.

Blame the laziness of the media. They don't have the budget or the
ambition to find all that much news on their own. Hence, when a major
news story breaks, they spend two minutes on the story itself, and then
five minutes on "reaction" to it. That's why the media are so laden
with celebrity gossip - publicists feed it to them and they don't have
to go out and look for it.
And once every so often, in order to look all serious and competent,
the media take one of the unending supply of medical news releases and
run it as though it were "breaking news." Dr. Zamboni probably just
didn't get a catchy-looking enough news release on the right news
directors' desks.
Also, it's new, highly unconventional, and as yet not conclusively
confirmed, so they're wary of sounding a false alarm.

Perhaps because there is no mention of Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods or
Paris Hilton?

Or more likely because, even though he's no longer in power, George W.
is using his pull to suppress the news for monetary gain.
