Can you guess which shows and/or people/characters they came from?
The answers are on the link above - I deleted them for this
little "quiz." The first answer is given as an example.

Reverend Jim, from "Taxi", must've had a phrase or two... Did he?
Cathy
I got a surprisingly large number of these -- especially considering how
little TV I watch.
> - "You're fired!"
Long before The Apprentice (which I have never watched) there was "The
Great Muppet Caper" -- a movie my autistic daughter pretty much
memorized. "You're fired!" was her favorite line to use when someone
upset her. Her Dad and I were fired multiple times, as well as her
teacher. When the "You're fired!" T-Shirts came out I wanted to get her one.
> - "You've got spunk ..."
"...and I hate spunk."

Oh, I remember the Excedrin ad with the pounding piano. Was apt to give you
a headache, causing you to need the Excedrin! ;-)

"Halo everybody, Halo! Halo is the shampoo that glorifies your hair..."
(self-explanatory - radio)
"You'll wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teeth with
Pepsodent" (also self-explanatory)
"Heeeyyy, Boo-Boo!" (Yogi Bear)
"Good night, Chet. Good night, David" (or maybe the other way around?)
Huntley-Brinkley report - evening news (NBC?)

"Do blondes really have more fun?" (Clairol)
"Car 54, where aarre yoouu??" (another self-explanatory one)
"...Khrushchev's due at Idlewild..." - also the "Car 54" theme song, but 2
words in one tiny phrase that date it so well!
Cathy
> "Look! Up in the sky!" (Superman)

"Not bird nor plane nor even frog, it's just little old me, Underdog."

"Try it, you'll like it. Try it, you'll like it. I tried it. Thought I
was gonna die."
By the way, if you want a blast from the past: the Underdog theme song.
Note the full orchestra and chorus - they really knew how to do schlocky
cartoons in those days:

Was "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" in there?
or "LSMFT: Lucky Strikes means fine tobacco?"
or "Come alive! You're in the Pepsi generation?"
Priscilla

"See the USA in your Chevrolet"
"Go Rinty!" (Rin Tin Tin)
"King of the wild frontier" (Davey Crocket)
