A friend who also suffers from MCS and I are both needing to paint our
homes. We've discussed whitewashing rather than painting as we are not sure
what we can use that wouldn't cause reactions.
Can anyone recommend anything that might not make us ill from the
off-gassing?
Thanks,
Murielle
Murielle,
I"ve painted several years in a row. The first year I bought cheaper paint:
My windows were open for faster drying.
1) the coverage wasn't as good
2) it took longer to dry
3) I detected an odor.
So my next buys were quality (and more expensive).
So look for quality, before having the color mixed, have a whiff,
if okay, buy a small tin and paint a sample board - let it dry 24 hours
keep it near near your bed. and if it's no problem, then go with that brand.
one was delux semi-gloss www.dulux.com seems to have stores in the US
the other was para acrylic paint www.para.com seems to only have 4 or 5
locations in the US
Your experience may vary, so ask the advice of the paint store and follow the
sniff test etc first .
Is my best idea on that. Good luck.
If you find some that do cause problems, would appreciate you noting them
here.(for others who may be looking into it).

I forgot all about posting here ... My memory is pretty bad these days.
(I'm blaming the weather. ;-))
Your suggestions sound very sensible. I'll forward this to myself so I
don't forget what you've written.
Thanks again,
Murielle
