A male pee contest is what it is to Chloe.

I think it is something else and a consequence of our hi tech world
nowadays and the people using hi tech. and the examples we see in those
fascinating USA political campaigns.

In the 90's we started to Text people, now there's Facebook and Twitter,
limited to 140 charachters each message.

So we are invited to say something short and that must do it! You are
supposed to understand what the other means. No longer dialogues. Just
expecting that the others mind is the same as yours.

When not, you're a GOOFY!! (quoting % here, but meant as an example of
how quickly another is judged)

When we don't take the time to learn about someone, and we only rely on
short text without the facial expressions or even history of a
person...we can now have a simple judgement about another, and it is
valid.

And they claim it to be valid, because of what is 'normal', when using
Text messages.

Just because a sentence of 5-9 words can only be interpreted by the
sender as he has spelled/dictated that out for you! Rhetoric, AND you
never got it, right?

Few word sentences are often being used by your politicians:

'I am there for the middle class...' time to breath in, people, before I
throw another SHORT TEXT MESSAGE at ya!!

So I conclude here by saying that few word sentences like:

'I am there for the middle class'
'It is a male pee contest'

...have the same value to me!

value = zero!

PS:

our president says: I wanna be a president for all Dutch people.

Value = zero

This guy is on an ego trip supported by rich people of his party.

Never trust few word sentences. (yes this has no value either...lol)

Ok...let's go hava male pee contest, then!

The meaning was that both of you, soemtimes more, keep arguing about
absolutely nothing valid except how much better one is or how much
worse theother one is, wihtt he next one trying to top it off.

To me, this is the same as a pee contest, or a 'mine is bigger than
yours' contest.

Which is a barely evolved form from teh 4 year ol's 'my daddy is stronger
than your daddy' contest.

As four communication modes limited to 144 characters, they are fine if
one is exchanging abut someothing, as in commenting some event or other info.
It is fine in places made for that mode and puspose.

But ngs are not for that form of communications.

poeple here wjo post one liners are either unable of writing OR are only
doing so because they penpal outsdide the ng. I need not name them, it is
self-revealing.
They also tend to not exchange with much of anyone else in the ng.

That makes ezxcanges for lonely ones quite limited, and lately, unexistant.

Nah, you miss the point. I sometimes try to talk to %, from a social
approach. Me, like anyone else need changing information. It is hard
with %, but as long as he's here, I wanna try.

So when I say, you're ok...I feel it.

You think % wants to make a male pee contest from this?

I guess I don't know Northern Americans much.

I have some anecdotes:

First time I came into contact with a guy from the USA, conversation
went as follows, this was in Thailand:

Do you HAVE to BE DUTCH to stay here? He meant the fancy resort I was
staying in and he pointed at the sign greeting Dutch people there.

I said: No, there are Australians as well.

Next question as I am sitting in the truck with him: How can you smoke
this??? I was smoking Marlboro light at the time, and he was doing
tobacco.

See the point here...men talk different and very direct to eachother
when from another country.

As we do not share the same communication and when we do not know how to
converse with eachother, we go back to instinctual communication.

Many ways of interpreting this are possible.

In Thailand and with this guy it didn't lead to a peeing contest.
eventually he shut his big mouth, and tried to get it on with the women
in the group.

I was thinking: What's your problem? When with the cigarettes.

That's just how it goes.

Another example of how I am being suprised at male communication:

I am in Thailand, in that resort, it's early in the morning, breakfast
is served. A group of Australians is there, with one huge guy with a fat
belly, living the good life, in his late 20's.

I was before him in the queue, so I ask the small tiny Thai cook: Can I
have a fried egg, egg yolk broken, please? (I prefer some British
influence above vulgar ordering)

My egg is being prepared, while this enormous Australian guy orders his
egg:

Hey...I want my egg fried...Sunny Side UPPPPP!!!!

Well... :)))

About the valid thing, communication often leaves out many things, so if
it's not valid to a Scientifically educated person as yourself, I can
only say: Sorry I don't match your intellectual grown up adult way of
communcation.

There are many people who are not capable of using words that describe
concepts or groups of words that find a meaning in a single word.

They use chat talk to make something clear.

I like it when even people who have been able to study at a University,
still know how to explain things to less educated people with the
simplest words.

Chloe, it's ok if you use words like 'unilateral'. Me as a Dutch person
I would have to look it up.

In normal life I find it a way of power over others to use complicated
words to keep one from understanding the message.

Still, I wish for soemthign other than to have to play 'my dad is strogner

Funny you should mention tire pressure...two of my tires seem at times
extra low, then I look at them again and they do not seem bad at all..

Yet they feel soft enough, seems to me when I press them with the tip of
my toes. So...Suince a few days alerady I think 'I oughta go put air in
the tires'....

But each time, I had errands to do and felt like just gettign hiome and
postponed it. Thuis evenign too.

Will have to see to it very soo though. Before weekend....if not before.

I have a neighbor that bought oen fo those huge trucks that takes more
than his space: he keeps squeezing me, specially in winter, when the lines
on the parking lot are burried under snow or ice...Our parkign numbers are
right in the middle of our spaces, and are screwed on some wooden sort of
wall where the electruic outlets also are. You'd think he would know that
and leave me to park in my space wihtout squeezing me. But nope. Result is
that after the fprst snow bank that turned into solid ice and was not
cleaned by landlord because of how hard that ice is, I end up parkign wiht
two tires half or fully on an ice bank. I think that makes it so they
either slowly leak or look flater than normal. When parked on flat (if I
get home before him which si rare, darn it:(), the tires seem not bad at
all...
So am not sure they are sft fr real...Besides. last time I went to check
the air pressure, I could not even read the darn thing when on the tire,
and removing it, of course, the gauge slips back in...Not much helpful,
that...

As luck has it, just as I am hoping to make it with hard work sine months
on the budget and meetiong the money for the rrsp (or else they tax me to
death) by the end of this month, I get home and spit a lil piece of tooth.
Aftwer checking my teeth with my tongue, I saw it was that part that I
kept telling the dentist felt like it needed to have a fillign replaced,
as it was rough aroudn the edges, showing 'ungluing' or lifting. But twice
she said that nah, it was just a matterof polishing. This wee, i felt that
rough edge again....there and at one other tooth, a molar that she worked
on but seems to not be done completyely, as if she elft spots undone on
those two:(...

And today, the oen behind a front tooth fell, leabing the upper part of
the tyooth broken at the back, near the gum and...under it, a hole, no
tooth:(...Rest is holding only because of the front part keepign it together:(

ASo that means very very serious and expensive dental work, and URGENT
before the tooth breaks or can not be done anythign with -if not too late
for that already:( Hope not....And that means once more thousands to spit
somehow......Dental insurance does not cover crowns:(...It covers the
rooth canal part but that oen already had a root canal done after the
assault....was entirely rebuild, that is, half the tooth was broken, the
oen I swallowed...they put a pin in after a root canal, and sicne the
upper half was left, they sort of made it in a triangle shape to add
fillign aroudn it to shape it liek a tooth. I fear they will not be able
to do that now due to the tooth part of the upper part fo the tooth,
behind itm, now being gone:(, leaving the rest fo the tooth part that was
behind it, but unatached, except as I said by the rest of the filling and
tooth at the front:(

When it rains......
Wprst is sicne work might stop anythime, I have to really do this rush all
I can, and there is no way I can before next moth and then some!
AND I already had the other oen the dentist half did (leaving aprts undone
too to that second one) that I planned having a crown over asap, because
of how fragile I feared it coudol very fast beconme, the repairs not beign
done properly at its base, enar gums too, on the outside of that one (a
molar, that one: the other one from today si a friggen front tooth. Not
middle but te oen right by it, on my right side(by canine).
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

There goes the nice feelign of beign near the end of the fight and
struggle for making ends meet soon.....with oenrent owed by then of course
to make it on timefor RRSP...but I had hope with tighetning the belt all i
coudl for another mon th or two to get the car insurance paid adn catch up
on the dragging rent, so as to have the expected crown done after march,
IF I still have a job then:(

March is end of business fioscal yearwhere many might elarn they no longer
have a job....

Some radials tires can actually be up to proper pressure, but if there is
more weight on one tire (uneven ground, etc.) that tire can look seriously
under-inflated.
