Oh Chloe, among all those friends doing so much
repair and decoration work in your house I fear
I just step on their toes. Guess I should paint
you a virtual picture in oil.

Where do you want to put it up? What dominating colour?
How big shall it be? Gimme the dimensions and
the place where you would like to put it up
and a bit of the atmosphere in the room.
Then I'll think about the motif and describe
you my virtual painting in oil - huh?

Has Monster finished his work?
If I'm very nice to him, do you think I could get
some massage for my feet es well? Have pedicured
them and they are real velvet paws now and never
ever stink. (The stinky cheese is in my fridge ;-)
Okay then, but it's you who makes the wishes now,
so Cloe, go ahead and give me some clues for the
painting.

Sumi

ps. Okay Monster, you can also have the cheese
without massaging my feet, nahnah.....

Morning, Sumi!:)

Not to worry, the house is quite big, and all are each working on a given
area:). They also all wear inflatable slippers, so that if they step on
any toes, no one will be hurt in the process;-).

Guess I should paint

All right!! Yay!!!
Wow, that'll be neat!!

That's a great super idea!:)

Okay: there is a huge staircase, the steps all wood slabs on cast iron,
that does the threee floors in a same staircase. That makes is to there is
an area of about oh...20 ft high from the main floor to the top of the second
that I always dreamt would be covered with paintings, with the proper
lighting installed for it too, of course, which someone else coudl fix
for me and for your painting.

There is an indentation in the wall, barely one inch, that sort of divides
the wall from about 4 ft over the landing step to the ""roof" of the
house,i.e. to the attic level, which gives you about oh...Maybe 16 ft for
a paitning. However, I always thought that a painting should particularly
be at the very top, which is opened concept, i.e. which can be seen from
the hallway of the second floor, and at the second floor height then, to
the ceiling of the attic....
So say about ...10 wide by 14 high, where though it woudl be nicer if not
wall to wall...You can either paint directly on the wall or on canvas to
hang, and either make just a big one or many smaller ones.
I already have paintings from OTS, but they are not framed yet save for
two, where in time, I want to have those framed and also put them in that
area. However, puttign paintigns only there and none elsewhere in the
house woudl not work too well.

Save for OTS's paintings, and even there, only the two among maybe 10 that are
temporarily framed in cheap poster frames, awaiting for better frames to
set the rest up, I got absolutely NOTHING on the walls, not one room has a
painting or anythign else on any wall.

The house is this way: first floor: entrance is living room, opened to the
staircase, wiht a gas stove, a 45 degree angle wall where the gas stove is
to your right, passed the staircase, as you walk in. The straoicase is
sort of prolonged into the living, sticking out in the entrance area, but
again is opened too, just slabs of wood on cats iron, which does not
"block" the view at all then. Staircase it immediately to your right as
you walk in, an entrance closet to your left. Living room in front of you,
passed what looks like a hallway and is the living but narrowed by the
staircase landing and rail to the basement stairs that sort of creates a
division, opened again, between the entrance and living.

Right after the closet to your left is a doorway. No door, just a door
frame, which leads to the kitchenette, to your left, then. But kitchenette
and living are only divided by a small wall, five ft long approx.
All the rest is opened concept on the forst floor. Passed that wall as
tyou walk into the living, you can see the dining room to your left as
well that gives directly on the living, no dividing all or nothing. The
space is divided by the floors, where the living and all the second floor
are hard wood floors, all oak. But the dining room and kitchenette, where
the kitchenette is not visible from the living, but yet opened to the
dining room, have a cushion floor, white background with spashes of light
colors, in beige, violet and purple and grey. I donlt care for it much
and well, I am sure Monster planned to change that::).
In the dining room on the father left side wall, exterior wall, yet giving
on the lobby of the building, so not really exterior, is the turtle
aquarium, a 70 gallon aquarium, but long and narrow. Sort of 5.5 ft long
by 3.5 ft high by 1.5 width. At the end of it are the dining room windows.
Only a small part of it opens at all, near the aquarium. The rest of the
dining room wall giving to the frotn yard is windows all the way, from
about 4 ft from the floor to the ceiling. But again only a regular window,
sliding type, opens at only end. A small wall of about 3 ft then divides
these windo3ws from the living room patio doors. Six ft wide type of patio
doors. Besides then is another 8 ft before the wall btween me and my
neighbors, all sound proof, two layers of sound proof concrete blocks,
where that creates a sort of diamond shape motif on that wall which I
woudl do without. It makes it so no furniture can be put against it, and
sicne it is the only wall of any reasonable elnght in the living room, I'd
like to be able to "use" it for a video audio centre and even for book
shelves and frames and etc, but eh, not very handy those decorative
concrete bloacks are. All is in white in the house save for what was
repainted by Monster, save my bedroom which was once painted forest green,
very dark, all four walls, by a renter that never repainted it white as
promised when he left. Lease says no colors, but everyoen else has some
and they actually look at you as if you wee retardfed if you keep
everythign white, here.

But there is a wall over the gas stove, a 45 degree angke wall, as they
walled ina regular real fireplace (doh) when they renovated the houses
and put these gas stoves instead, which amde that wall be 45 degree then.
Gives on the staircase.

So you had a tour aroudn the forst floor. As you see, the only walls are
the ones where the aquarium is, a small 3 ft wall and another 5 ft one
between the dining/kitchen area and the living, and that losanges/diamond
wall seperating the row house from the neighbor's.
My stairwell actually indents in the neighbor's house, i.e. is "further
back" than the rest of the house lines between me and the nighbors. That
is, my house is bigger than theirs, has more bedrooms, and my second floor
then extends over the living room, a good 15 ft larger than the first on
the lft hand side, and larger than any of the other houses on the right
hand side of the secodn floor, as the study and washroom are over the
building's own lobby. This allows for much bigger rooms, and for more
windows, since I do not have neighbors to my right at all, only to my elft.

Secodn floor is for one third of it the staurcase area, which falls on a
hallways that is largher than a regular room. On the hallways give four
doors: from the top of the stairs if you stand there: behind you is the
staircase area where I;d like the paintings, from main floor to top of the
house (roof, opened on two floors that siarcase, again). Right in front of
you, the door to the study. Careful, Titan is nesting ina box by my puter
and is a mom defending her eggs. But she will not leave the study to
attack anyone:). The study is the smallest room, about 10 by 12.
To its right, the washroom door. Washroom is in lenght and gives right
over the lobby, on a mini roof over it that coudl be turned into a L
shaped private terrace accessed from the study, if owned the place.
giant cedar corners the roof at the study room level, givign privacy.

To the right of the landing step/hall, second floor still, my bedroom.
About 16 by 18 or 20. Problem there is besides the awful paint job I was
left with, the WINDOWS. The biggest room of the house save the living, and
it does not even have anythign else than one of those old houses 4 ft long
window, where you can only open one side at a time, sort of thing, if both
sides opened. It is permanently opened four inches in winter. The only
room no one can access to break in, simply. Nothign outdoors gives access
to it.
THAT room shoudl have patio doors and the balcony, which is yet in the
next room, the guest room.
That one between my room and the study, the corner room. About 14 by 16.
Patio doors and a 16 ft long balcony, private, only accessibel by that
room, and provate as well in that a huge pine tree just on the oher side
of the yard fence extends its branches over the windows. As it has windows
on top of the patio doors, so a full wall of light and windows in there.

Basement is unfinished, save for what Monster did for work:).
Bioring concrete floors painted light grey before Monster worked in
there;-). Two by fours everywhere, ceilings and walls. Fixtures for washer
and dryer are at the two most opposite ends of the basement. Dryer gives
on exterior wall for the hot air vent, and washer is under kitchenette.
Pain in the butt majr, that. I dream of having a washer and dryer on the
firt floor, if there is no room for it given the absebce of walls for one
thing...and the kitchenette being way too small for my taste. I like a sit
in kitchen, serving as a dining troom as well, ewho cares about kitchenettes!!
This ainlt new York after all;-), and this is a house, not an apartment.
Families coudl live here and did before. How they managed to carry
everythign to the tabel in the dining room three times a day is beyond me.
Specially wiht that Island counter seperating the kitchenette from the
dining room, where you still ahve four ft or so opened between the two
rooms, and no walls between thm again. But still....If this place was
mine, the Island conter would be ripped off and a washer and druer woudl b
installed w=ruight there, with cupboard on top of them for room for iton
and detergent, and so on on one side, with accordeon doors so as to leave
sace when doing the laundry, making the machiens accessible, nah!

Cuipboards are all the white melamine type, on a natural but varnished wood
frame. One full wall of cupboards there, then on the same wall as the
aquarium, and the island counter having one cupboard only in it, then the
space for a dishwasher under it, without the fixtures though, so woudl hve
to be a pritable one, rollign it to the sink all the time.
If I wonderd the place, I;d have the dishwasher and have it against that
wall between the kitchenette and living room hall, where I woudl a few ft
firther put the washer and dryer at a 90 degree angel, so they woudl have
room to be side by side. Woudl still leave more room accessing to the
dining room than now, and woudl build shelves between dishwasher and
washer/dryer, and over them, wiht the accordeon sort of doors hiding it
all, yet making them always easily accessible. Needs room for the dirty
laundry to be shoved too, in that sort of accordeon doors space.

As well, the patio doors should give on the dining room, not the living room.
Makes the living room lighting be rather uncontrollable, makes one mroe
wall unusable there, and makes it so the living room is always dorty, the
pets going outdoors and coming in directly in the living room from the
yards...

So...You got the two small walls in the loving, between the dining and
kitchenette. But Monster painted the hallway/entrance/sittign room, where
then that leaves you the wall by the patio doors, the 3 ft one, where yet
the four birds are (three budgies, got a new one this weekend to replace
Tootsie the coackatiel as Squeaks the budgie hits it off with Tweed
the remaining cockatiel where that elft Chelsea all aloned and nervous.
Got her a nice lil male named Zazoo now, a baby mind you but where even
Squaks is interested in him too!
Now Tweed is the one aloned....Gngngn....But me thinks that Cheksea and
this Zazoo will remain a couiple and Squeaks still goes back to
Tweed...where hopefully in no time they all will have a close friend to
pair with and leave no on alone:)

It is a big cage and on a stand, and a mirror is on that wall for the
birds, behind their cage....

So see, you are bst to think of paintingds for the staircase huge area, or
for the rooms, specially my room and the guest room.

My room would be ideal given the lack of windows....To brighten it up.
And cause lighting then is more controllable than the geyst room with its
wall of patio doors and windows.

As for the colors, bah. The palce can use all the colors there is:)

> > Has Monster finished his work?

I dunno! Myabe he deserted the job after that first day....
If he did a LOT that day!

Maybe he s working on the daily cakes too, I dunno!:)
He just took off....:):):);-)

> If I'm very nice to him, do you think I could get > some massage for my

Okay,. but not before he gave me all the foot massages one can, cause
after your feet, he will never wanna touch my ugly feet ever again!!!!:):)
Not very nice of you, tryign to snatch him ith that unfair foot
competition LOL:);-);-)

BTW, the contest s for UUGLY feet, not who has the prettiest flower
scented velvetty feet!;-) L:)
Cheater! :):)

But okay, then.....
If Monster wants to that is of course:)
Maybe he got addicted to the smell of my feet by now after all;-);-);-)

> (The stinky cheese is in my fridge ;-)

Now youa re really going to snatch him away from his bday work all right,t
alkign chese and all!! No fair, Sumi! L:)

> Okay then, but it's you who makes the wishes now, > so Cloe, go ahead
and give me some clues for the > painting.

How about you get cans of paint and a canvas or paint directly on the
walls, as you prefer, and ...put a b;ind fold on your eyes and try and
paint say four poeple having a chat at a cafe terrasse?
Betcha it woudl end up being a really very neat painting, no matter what
it woudl actually represent done in th dark:)

> > Sumi
>
> ps. Okay Monster, you can also have the cheese
> without massaging my feet, nahnah.....

Well I'll be...It was not innocent competition after all, she calculated her
move wiht the chese!!!!! Betcha she also invented the velvetty feet, hah!
I better bware, she might have ug;ier feet than me and be aiming at
winning the ugly feet contest takign everyoen by surprise!!!:):)

On Mon, 06 Sep 2004 16:50:36 -0400, the world was enlightented by sumire,
unto whom the words are attributed:

Eh, whaaatt? (awakes from drowsy fug) Oh, hello Sumi, I was dosing a
bit, in between doing bits of painting, as one does, you know. Could do
with a nice cup of tea and sit down. Now, you were saying something about
feet, and nice cheese. You suggest you would supply the cheese and
deprive me of the feet? Shock horror! Let me massage your feet, sweet
Sumire! /Then/ I will be grateful for the cheese! Otherwise, I may feel
like a horrible cheese scrounger, and we don't want /that/, do we? No no
no! Feet massages, everybody!!!!!!

'Nyway, I still have painting to do. Am also sure Phooey, Looey and Dooey
have been sleeping on the job, and need a bit of a prod. Maybe if I
suggest they can share *** Melon-ade *** with Chloe, they will try harder,
eh?

Say, Velvet Smurf, how about ya do that painting with your feet?:)

Or have everyoen step into paint and walk on the canvas? I always dreamt
of having a foot preint of each visitor:). Just for the fun of it:)
It coudl start nice conversations: "Let me guess. This ugly print must be
OB's feet, for sure!" -I'll give you OB's ugly feet. These are MINE, nah.
See that trophee there? Ugliest feet in the world? There. Nah, OB's one is
the one with the socks on, of course. Oh,that velevetty foot? Sumi's. The

front one to the back, hehehe:). And this here, is Ghost. You donlt see

Phew, phew, phew..... Chloe's bday so close
tomorrow and my picture isn't finished yet...
I fear there is no time for massages,
I'll come for that treat a bit later, okay.
BTW, there's paint all over my feet,
was sommat clumsy and stepped in the paintbox...
No time to lose, I'm painting like mad:

A big picture in warm colours, red and yellow and orange,
I would say, with fresh splashes of blue and turquois...
and all those undescribable shades, you know...
I want the sun rise in Sumi's place ... she gave me such a big choice of
where to put the picture so I'll leave it to her. Maybe somewhere near her
dining table or in a place
she passes every day.
If you look closer the abstract shades in the picture will form into
people socialising on a sunny terrace, all engulfed in a net of
sunrays......
Ohboy I'm carried away by my painting job ...... even if it's only
virtual. (So much in my head and nothing in my hands :-(

Okay, cya on Chloe's bday party :-)
