Greetings, guys, from a fellow who hasn't dropped in for nearly three
years. Yeah, Katrina knocked the hell out of me, but not my love of
jocks and cups. Got a number of kind emails looking out for me after
the storm and I've never forgotten it. All is going just fine on my
end, and yes, I'm in my standard bike flex cup a w/grey pocket jock.
I usually prefer a swimmer's jock under a cup, covered by a softer
jock like the SafeTGard on top. I find its the most comfortable setup
under jeans. When I'm in a suit, I'll sometimes put a boxer short
over the setup. Its not everyday though. Hell, I'll even drop a cup
between two Calvin briefs because it works - but man, does it getty
sweaty down there (yeah, that can be half the fun as well). Its good
to say hello, and I'll be browsing some of the older posts as I get
the time. Stay cupped.

No, I haven't. I've only had an older standard Bike cup and their more
recent flex style. Wasn't someone here providing caution about metal
cups on cold days? Anyway, what's your favorite metal type. I'm due
some swimmer jocks and another cup. Options?

Hi!

Welcome back cupped ;-)

I have two metal cups and a stainless/chrome codpiece. Photos are on
Flickr. Can't say as the metal cups are as exciting as they sound,
but the ShockDoctor is probably the best of the currently available
styles:

It's also extremely sturdy (not to mention heavy); these definitely
will NOT break under any conceivable activity :-)

Any others with metal cup experience?

Regards,
Alan

Hey man, it's good to see you back. One of the posts you
wrote before Katrina was so funny I saved it. Can't include
it here because it's on another machine, but it went
something like
"Can you imagine walking by a stall in the mens room and
seeing a dropped pair of pants and cup supporter ....".
Next time I run across it, I'll post it here.

Glad you're back!

Yeah, I see the metal cups, the anonymous one and the Shock Doctor
product. Like the idea of the way they ride under jeans (way to bait
me, man), I'll keep you posted on the acquisition and product testing.
John G, thanks a bunch for the recall, glad to be back ... that was
what, about 3 months in jock years since last I posted - maybe 3 weeks
knowing some of you guys. Hey, I know its tough tossing out an old
friend and I've seen those used jocks on Allkink.

The first cup I ever wore was metal.
It was for cricket and was aluminum covered with a sort of fake
leather and a thicker leather padded edging.
I was helping to collect things for a charity sale and I found it in a
bag of cricket kit and I quickly slipped it into place while no one
was watching. I had seen a cup at school but had never had the chance
to try one on.
As soon as I had it on I realised I would have to wear it for the rest
of the day and I had to keep it on until I went to bed so that no one
would see it and ask me about it. I was about 12 and it was an adult
one. I wonder if any one noticed. No one said anything but I wore it a
lot after that.
Eventually I summoned up enough courage to go to a sports store and
buy a better one and a jockstrap.

That's a good story, DeeJay. Sneeky boy, you were. So let's get the
picture here ... you already had on a pair of white Jockeys I'm
guessing, and you shoved this cup down your blue jeans under your
Jockeys and right on top of your boys? Then, you figured you were
stuck with it so you kept it on for the next six plus hours, had
dinner with the family, watched TV with Mom on the couch and finally
got to peel it off after you closed the door to your bedroom to
sleep. I can see it now, Dad thinking, "my boy's growing up"; while
Mom's thinking about the sticky bedlinen she'll have to deal with this
coming weekend. Oh, I think the family unit saw something funny but
didn't dare pry into the details. Share the details if you would like.

It certainly felt good and once I got a better one I wore it often
when I was out on my own and a few times to school (but I told that
story before !)
