HDAC inhibitors like butyrate reduce autoimmunity via IDO/tryptophan 
  While it shouldn't come as any surprise that butyrate and other HDAC inhibitors have potential against autoimmunity since they boost FoxP3 expression and regulatory T-cell numbers, this recent link to IDO is an interesting twist.
