Hi Everyone,
Well it seems to have done me some good. Many of you know my sides have
been horrid. I got a couple weeks off work, medical leave,. I thought
that if I rest and eat I would hope to feel better. I do feel better
but it feels tenuous.
After some rest at home I went to the Southern Arizona desert and
rested some more. It took a good 10 days of rest and trying to eat
before I felt any benefit.
One night I thought I should propably call the doc and the next morning
I found I could move about a bit more and felt better. I think the
antid's kicked in this past week too. that'll help.
My son, Keegan, and his father (JK),( no we are not married), met in
Tucson laast week and they hung with me and helped me settle in for the
first couple days. They were very sweet. The cottage was fairly private
and the weather was superb! There were lots of birds on the land. They
got a bit used to me after a bit and would come hang out so I could
check them out w/binoculars. The owner is creating a garden of
indigenous(sp) plants. The garden gave me subject matter for my art. A
nice place to hang out for a bit. I worked on a couple of
painting/quilting projects....they are not done but neither is this
treatment .....I'm learning patience!. I went for a drive one day to
Patagonia AZ, it was a very cute town....might even consider living
there if I could get a job. It is in a very pretty little valley near
Mexico. Another day I thought I would push my limits a bit and went for
a guided tour through Karchner Caverns...the caverns were great, but
after an hour and a half of walking I was fatigued to nausea
stage....but I made it through, it was worth it.
I've posted some pics at
http://photobucket.com/albums/y103/Pajaritaflora/
I think you may need to scroll to see them...
I've missed everyone. .......... I'm back on reduced work hours
monday..Onward and upward!

joy and happiness :)

What's the most peaceful thing for you about the desert? Does it seem to
happen in waves like sitting at the sea shore, the energy is in the land and
the sky and your quest powering you along gulp of air by gulp of air?
Elemental? Or is it more seductive and descrete in its appeal? Does it
just sneak up and capture you until it gets to your awareness at which point
you are likely to be overcome by the mood? (projecting a bit)

I can see how that would provide for a medium to change of focus at this
point. You are lucky to be able to have that experience, the travel would
have exhausted me, all the anxiety etc. plus the anemia. Hope that work
does not complicate your progress. I should be OK, I just bull my way
through things as some may have lately noticed. Costs me but I plan on
making out of the other end of the 48 week plan in tact. Why not send a
photo of some of your art to your dmusic site and call it dmusic accessories
or something to qualify as recording-oriented? 8-) I would like to see it
if thats possible.

Welcome back, you've convinced me to eat a big ol brownie to celebrate.

Peaceful in the desert...The sound of the dirt under my feet, it's a
cruchy sound you get no where else. The depth of sound when I sit
quietly on a rock in the sun. There are lots of birds, there is always
a symphony. Cactus, mesquite and flowers ...the flowers that come out
from these spindly slow growing cactus
provide a beautiful balance between cactus and flower. The subtle
development of color is soothing with it's green purple and orange hues
beneath the bluest of skies.

Very much like the ocean, the huge waves of landscape. Colorful
mountains to canyons and valleys beneath a big sky. These are exciting
to me..when I drive or hike(no hiking today) through the landscape I
have an irrepressible shit-eatin-grin on my face!

Elemental...Sensory.....

All of it CJ,.. all of it. :)

I'm lucky to have travelled quite a bit and am able to bypass alot of
the anxiety......I didn't make all the best travel arrangements this
time around (plane etc..) but I chalk that up to brain fog. And I just
trusted myself, I've done this before, and it was good.:)

Did you see the pics at this link?

There is much of what I have talked about in these pics. The paintings
are done on sik and then batting placed in between and then I'm
leisurley qulting the stitches throughout. The Pallo Verdes does not
have any quilting yet in the pics, I've started quilting today.

I like your Dmusic idea, I posted a drum peice just before I left.
under pajaritaflora ...called birdbeats. I'm fond of the ending.

Thanks,..... it's a test of patience, it's easier to be motivated
working in a hoop 'cause it sits on my lap, real easy going.

Nice pics! Am glad you enjoyed the desert and a few days off. There
should be a hepper's resort where everyone on treatment could spend the
duration sitting on their ass observing wonderful vistas and being
waited on hand and foot. My resort would be on a remote beach in
Tahiti. :-) Good to see you back!

Of course, the 'hand and foot' hospitality on that remote beach would
have to be a 24 hour staff of hot looking Polynesian babes in grass
skirts, no tops, ready to fill every desire. A really comfortable
recliner at the water's edge, a pitcher of limeade smoothies (little
umbrellas), a pair of cheap sunglasses and plenty of outrageous reefer.
Heavy duty sound system for music and long-ass cord to plug the geetar
into. That was my fantasy for the four years I did tx.

Today, I managed to mow, edge, lime the yard and plant a couple of
rasberry bushes as well as some ornamental grass. Planted some sorano
hot peppers in planters and started some red and white habyscus. I'm
worn out sitting here but at least it's done. It was 80 degrees here
today.

We put in some raspberries last year. Love that kind of stuff. Doug...
Cut back just the canes that bear the berries each year.

Gotcha on that one, Doug. I planted a 20 ft row of blackberries last
fall. It's the berries, man. PIE and ICE CREAM!!
