I had my biopsy Monday and for the next three days I felt like shit,
fatigue, total lack of energy and being so bummed out that I
completely forgot an appointment that I have the same day every week
at the same time.
There is no swelling or any infection that I can see on the out side
but it's like I can still feel the spot on my liver that was poked. no
other abdominal pains to speak of except if i breath in to hard and
deep.
Any way I get my results on the 24th of Dec. and should know then when
I will start my treatment.

I felt like I'd been kicked in the side, but that's all. Are you on
antidepressants? I'm no doctor but those sides sound more like some serious
depression than anything physical.

Ya I'm battling depression, have been for the last two years and have
been somewhat steady on the same meds, but this was really differant
than what I normally go through.
Oh ! maybe it's just all in my head.

I had pains for weeks, mostly where the poke was but also in other
places on my liver. It was worse when I breathed hard too. Welcome to
the club!

I think you should tell your doctor about this before you start tx. It
*sounds* like a siege of really major depression, but he's the expert. I've
never heard of that reaction before.

Dealing with a serious disease like hepC tends to be somewhat
depressing. Plus anxiety and fear over possible results. I say
congratulations on getting going on dealing with this. A little pain
after a biopsy is normal. Anxiety also. Good luck with the results.

As best as I recall, I experienced a bit of pain at the biopsy site
itself for some time afterward, I really can't remember how long, but
yes there was pain and tenderness...it was not extreme pain, more like
discomfort I suppose. I don't remember any other symptons after the
biopsy, but it has been four years since then.....Depression, on the
other hand, I have a lot of experience with, haha!

If you have problems now with remembering an appointment that is a
weekly affair for you, you had best get organized prior to starting
treatment. I couldn't remember my pin number for my bank card, my pin
number for my phone messages etc, to say nothing of why I had gone
from one room to another after a certain point in Treatment.

Do you have a support system in place? Others who are there around you
on a daily basis? Makes a big difference!
Sending positive thoughts towards Dec 24.....

I've heard sometimes people get some pain afterwards. Mine was
slightly tender for a couple of days but no issue really. I took a
couple of days off work because I'm a manual worker but that was more
as a "just in case" measure because of the slight risk of bleeding
starting inside.
The biggest problem I had after the biopsy was just as i left the
hospital premises. I was walking to my friend's house because they
wanted me with someone for a few hours afterwards. Some kid was
riding his bicycle along the footpath - straight at my right hand
side. Of course the instant reflex kicked in as I protected myself
and the poor lad went flying. Thankfully we were both OK. I did tell
him that I had just had some minor surgery in the hospital and was
just protecting it - in case he thought I was a total arsehole.
Typical isn't it? The only time in my life that I was hit by a
bicycle and it was a few hours after a biopsy :-) . I took the
impact on my arms though as I saw it coming.
