I've never had a problem with people publicising a product or service
in relevant groups as long as they do it openly. And these days Google
plasters the group page with advertising anyway (I recently posted
about a local hearing clinic that I learnt of that way, illustrating
the point that is can be interesting, even beneficial, to learn of a
supplier/product)
