We received a lot of conflicting advice on what to do with our son's
hearing loss.  Finally, it was another parent and not an audiologist
that convinced us to try a hearing aid.   Here's our story....http://

Interesting. What the experts cannot always understand is how it feels
to the 'deafie'. When I was first tested for hearing aids the
audiologist (a very good one) after testing my comprehension using one
ear, then gave me a test using both. it was immediately obvious to me
that the extra information my brain was getting made it easier to
understand difficulty words and sounds. and the results of the
comprehension test bore this out.
In addition, with two ears engaged you can tell where sounds are
coming from - this is always useful and can be vital info in some
circumstances.
