I feel so awkward replying to anyone or posting anything. Like I'm intruding.

That's maybe some of why I went away. I get like that a lot. It's why I can't do much on livejournal and such things - commenting feels like intruding.

I'm going to truncate my display name, so it's not so googlable. I think I had people stalking reading my usenet before. Someone claiming to be from usenet tried to get information from my brother. Doesn't make sense, if you're from usenet you have my email address and you don't need to send anonymous tumblr messages to my brother who you tracked down somehow stalky. Weirdness. Lots of creepy people, it seems. Someone made a fake OKCupid profile of me and gave my address to someone and they turned up at my house. M*m called the p*l*ce. Scary. But I've moved now so different address.

It's really nice not living with my m*th*r anymore. Too long.

I can use the word ab*se now! You all remember my problems there? :P F*th*r calls m*th*r ab*s*ve, and I guess that kind of gave me permission.

Because she is.

My partner says some things my f*th*r does are ab*s*ve too. They're probably right. They know about lots of things.

I can't remember what was going on with me when I was last here.

My p*r*nts got d*vorced.

Broke up with then-fiance of four years. Sie was ab*s*ve too. S*xually and other things. Gaslighting. Not good. Friends helped me realize it so I could get out. Got plans working to move to live with some friends.

I don't know what else to say. Ask me questions maybe? I don't know.

getting told that something you know is true isn't, so you doubt your own memories/perceptions. and my memory isn't very good, so it's easy to make me doubt it. it's not fun.

Hi Shi,

I'm a person who used to post here when you were here. You'll probably recognize my style, but please don't use my name in replies to me. :) (Privacy stuff.)

It sounds like lots has happened since you were last on asd!

I'm sorry to hear that your fiance turned out to be ab*sive, but very glad to hear that you had help and support to get out of that relationship.

I do remember your struggles with using the word ab*se to characterize your family. Good for you; it sounds like lots of growth has happened!

Hmm....questions, huh?

So what's it like living where you're living now?

Do you have any pets?

It's been quite a while! Lots has happened. And I've made a bunch of new friends that are in plural systems, which is nice. It's still a little weird, though, because there are a bunch of fictives, and that's still kinda... new. It's different. Other multiplicity communities are really different, and it's still weird to me because here was my first exposure to other systems.

We're different, too. Part of why I went away was I was (I thought) involuntarily singlet for a couple years. (It turns out the bad mad locked the others away from me to hurt me.) Finally rescued them with help from friends recently. Echo decided to go back to sleep, because the bad man got killed so her main purpose wasn't needed anymore. Rys got sent off into a parallel dimension because she wouldn't stop hurting me and Kyan. Summer's doing okay. She actually has other kids to play with now - Sergei and Katya are twins. They're new. Kyan's new. Irina is the other new one. Lots of upheaval. And headspace is different now too.

Lots of help from the same people who helped me realize J was shitty! Also my f*th*r calls my m*th*r ab*s*ve so I couldn't really deny that one anymore.

I'm living with my father right now, but I should hopefully be moving out at the end of the month. Living with my father is... slightly less awful than living with my mother, but I hate his girlfriend and his housemate and they talk about obnoxious pseudoscience all the time and don't believe in microwaves and well me to just exercise and eat better and I won't be d*pr*ssed, like it's that easy. I finally got m*ds though, they're helping a lot, but I'm still in such a stressful situation that there's only so much it can do.

I still have two cats! It's going to be... interesting driving them across the country when I move.

It's nice to have friends who understand. It sounds like you found some other forums?

I wonder how many of the old asders did find other places to hang out while asd was much less active. I know I did some searching out of other support forums.

asd has a distinct culture to it, and I'll probably never totally feel in other places like I feel here.

Here is all trauma systems, and other communities have more 'natural' multiplicity, and, well, fictives everywhere. Fictives are alters from fictional universes - like, I'm friends with a Beetlejuice, and a Tony Stark. I only know one system in those other communities that *doesn't* have fictives, and they have people that live in other universes. It's all really different. We're the only system I'm friends with now where nobody's from outside our skull. It makes it a little hard for Kyan - she doesn't feel real in comparison.
> It's nice to have friends who understand. It sounds like you found some other forums?

Tumblr, mostly. I'm very bad at forums. I just kind of lucked into friendship with an existing group of systems.

It's a little overwhelming dealing with all the kids - Sergei especially is really terrified all the time because he was stuck with the bad man for so long. It's hard trying to get him to let himself just be a kid - he's so scared all of the time. But my good good friend/adopting dad John (in one of my dearest friendsystems) is amazing with the kids. I'm not sure how I'd be dealing with a seven year old and two ten year olds without his help.

I have one of the carriers sitting in my room with the door off, and Tabby's been hanging out in it, so I'm hopeful that they won't mind too much!

*shrugs*

the people clearly exist, I'm willing to take that they're who they say they are on politeness if nothing else. it's not like I have any room to talk on strange things. why shouldn't there be people with doors to other universes in their heads? it's as plausible as anything else :P

I wonder if you know what needs some of the newer insiders may have developed around?

Hope Rys can, at some point, be rescued if she isn't happy having been sent off. Or maybe there's some part of her in some of the newer parts? I don't know how this all works for you, so my questions may not all be on point.

But I think it's cool how insiders can evolve according to needs in the inner world and the environment. It's something that makes multiplicity a potentially adaptive and adaptable way of being.

It's amazing how many people do this now. In the 80s and 90s I don't
think I ever knew anyone who slept on someone's couch and now I know
lots of people who do this. Very odd how things change in a society. I
knew lots of people who could have slept on a couch but didn't (I
guess they stayed in a motel?) or maybe fewer people made a move
without having a place to move to set up? I dunno, it seems like more
people are moving away before setting up the moving to now. I wonder
why that is? Or maybe more people had two bedrooms in the past and so
people just became temporarily roommates and helped with the rent and
now there are fewer people with two bedrooms... hmm...
