i think everyone at asd just needs to all move to the same physical
locale and take all our close friends and work engagements and stuff
there to the asd town. then we could do all the stuff we say we would
do if we were there and it would be super super cool.

Got it! We buy a chain of islands that stretch north to south! The
furthest north one will be Main-ish and furthest south one will be
tropical. We will travel between islands using boats or little
airplanes. Or really long bridges like they have in Florida!! :)

Hmmm.... I think before I would ahve voted tropical, but what with how
Karcher Caverns (local living cave went to with fiance that inside is

true tropical islands don't have such high humidity (except for a total
of about 3-4 weeks in a year) because trade winds make it really

really low to the water/swamp. The bridge to the keys is also pretty
cool :) You live on an island, you should be ok about water. _I'm_
the one who could have a problem with it *hands on hips* it's not

There is a causway to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. We rode
the whole thing on a bike, then up to the highest point on the island,
then down to look at the freerange buffalo ranch, then back across the
causway.

We are a semi-arid high desert like environment. Something like 12
inches of precip. a year. Granted, higher than us there is LOTS of snow
*grin* so we get run off, but allegedly we still don't have much in
the way of precip. Compared to Illinois... we have almost NO
precipitation.
I am not a water person. I will tolerate being in pools. I like
hot tubs. I don't go in natural bodies of water. Too many 'things'
in there *ick*

Just after we got to the campground fritz had to go so we went to the
outhouse (pit toilet sort of thing) and as he was getting ready to
go he noticed a sp*der right in front of his face. I didn't know a
human being could scream so loudly. They heard him at the beach! My
ears were ringing for hours afterward.
So we packed everything back up, drove around and saw the buffalo and
other animals then left! Never camping _there_ again!!!!!!!!

Yeah, there are sp*ders everywhere in Utah. Boffins here say you're
never more than five feet from a sp*der here.

I'm ok with spiders. We have black widows, they are shy and stay
outside. We have wolf spiders, they are great for keeping bugs
out of the house and you can just pick them up and move them. We have
little spiders I _think_ are cellar spiders that are too delicate to
pick up so they mostly get squished on accident. We have harmless
spiders related to black widows that are neat to watch.
All of these are ok spiders to have around.

Yeah, _now_ I know *rolls eyes. The funny thing is, there is a
campground just on the beach area sort of south from the causeway
(not on the island) that is a private campground and it has NO
spiders. I've stayed there before and it's fine.

Our brother has a photo from where he lived in Manila of a trapdoor
sp*der in his house. Looked like a d*ddy long leg, but four foot long
legs.

ever since the wigglies 'lilah's fear of creepy crawlies has been
exacerbated, but we get these tiny little skinny spiders and no one
seems to be too bothered by them. just leave them to it.

Yes, normally we are all ok with spiders. These were just so BIG
and kind of squishy looking. ICK
Maybe your spider left because there weren't enough bugs behind the
coffee pot :)
Last night fritz found a fairly large wolf spider that we looked
at for a bit. They are quite pretty actually. We usually let spiders
out in our garage because we have flies and stuff out there for them
to eat. Not too many bugs get into our house, well but for those
things that aren't box elder bugs but we call them that and spiders
don't seem to eat them.
