I have been reading about the paleo diet and intend to follow it soon.
But the question I have has to do with blood types. A case is made by
Dr D'Adamo that blood types came about as a result of a change in
diet. If you look at his foods for blood type O (which would be
paleolithic) they are virtually the same as the paleo diet.except for
a few early legumes. About 17,000 to 27,000 years ago blood type A
added plants and grains to the mix, and 12,000 to 17,000 years ago
blood type B added dairy.
Possibly our blood types were adaptations to changes in diet and so I
wonder how closely a blood type B person should follow the paleo diet
as opposed to blood type O which would probably benefit the most.
I notice some people following the paleo diet adding oatmeal to their
diet, and wonder if they are blood type A?
Or adding some dairy such as yogurt might be blood type B?
any thoughts?
