Have a 32 oz coke, or whatever with your Feast!... more »

breakfast
I make my own granola (oats, honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, slivered almonds) and I mix 1/2 cup of this with 1/2 cup of all bran cereal for breakfast. This mixture is good and never had an adverse effect on my blood sugar. Now all of a sudden, my BS is 11.2 two hours after eating my normal breakfast. It didn't happen just once, but 2 or 3 days n a row.... more »

Accu-Chek Meter Available
The last time I tried to do this, it didn't work too well. But I don't need it, don't want it, so here we go again. I picked up an "Accu-Chek Compact Plus" all-in-one convenience kit tonight because I wanted the stabber. So, it's all there except the stabber, which I'm keeping, and one lancet, which is in my new... more »

Neuropathy sensations...
Does anyone else feel the sensations/pain/creepycrawlies of neuropathy at your waist, specifically in the back around kidney level? I asked a doctor about the creepy crawly sensation a few years ago (it happens only rarely) and was told it was the beginnings of shingles and gave me some sort of pain killer. I never developed shingles.... more »

HOLIDAY FEASTING TIPS
  1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You... more »
