Was anyone here an Actos user--using it successfully who decided to go
off Actos because of the bladder cancer risk?

What were the consequences? For example, switch to drug x, had these
side-effects and this change in A1c level.

Thank you.

PS. I am not interested in advice for me (talk to my doctor, tell us
more about your situation so we can give advice....)--just information
about your actual experience.

I used Actos for years, successfully, until I got an insurance notice
saying they wanted me to change.

Switched back to Avandia, which I had tried earlier. No noticeable
change in A1C level, but it gave me constipation (NOT one of the
listed possible side effects), so I soon switched again, to Januvia.
No noticeable A1C change from the second switch.

Have been using only one oral diabetes medicine at a time, with a
low-carb, high-protein diet to help.

Why was your insurance company telling you to switch -- were they really
that concerned about those risk factors/your health or were they concerned
about their wallet? Did they give a reason? and what did your doctor say
about it?
