My way of treating Thanksgiving (and other special occasion dinners) is to
test/inject as usual. Inject corrections as usual. Pig out on everything
including cake and pie.
It remains much smarter to eat the right daily amount (32 oz) of food:

Not me. I eat the way I usually do and that's no dessert. I do usually
make a sugar free cranberry salad.

I
I don't really use a recipe. But I start with Jell-O. Cranberry if I can
get it. If not, then orange or one of the red flavors. If using a red one,
I add a drop of orange extract. I also add a bit of orange zest. About the
zest of one orange. Make up the Jell-O as per the instructions to add
fruit. When partially set, mix the following in. Coarsely chopped
cranberries that have been sweetened with the sweetener of your choice to
taste. Chopped celery and halves or chopped walnuts or pecans. I add a
lot of these because I don't like Jell-O. I use just enough to hold it all
together.
My mom adds some chopped apple or grapes but I leave these out.
My once a year is Xmas and I eat everything and don't worry about amounts. I
don't test on Xmas Day...
