Do you have pictures hanging on your walls?

What rooms and what is the picture?

How about wallpaper?

What is the design?

Which do you like best? Least?

I'm posting this as I don't know what else to say and thought this
might elicit some interesting responses.

I have pictures all over my walls. They are painted but on average
there are three pictures per wall. The designs range from an abstract
in acrylic, am impressionist piece in water color, a key clock, and
other misc stuff. I also have some of my own artwork up though only
one piece is in the living room - the rest is tucked away in my
bedroom. I use to have this man calendar that I collected all the
pictures of the kind of body I wanted. It ended up depressing me more
than anything so I did not put them up when I moved. My favorite is a
ties between one I did called rebirth and another that is a
professionally framed movie poster of a film called "longtime
Companion".

I have an open floor plan so in a way I have only one room, plus the
bathroom. And my walls are log rounds, so small pictures never sit right on
them. I have more paintings than wall space, and I've met the artists of
about half the paintings. Water color, oil, tapestry, even woodcuts.
Scenic, floral, portrait. Some inherited, some gifts, some purchased, some
even mine.

Favorite is probably the Mandolin Player, by a German Expressionist painting
that I inherited from my grandfather.

Also way too many books, including some over 100 yrs old. Beadwork.
Carving. Neat rocks.

I gotta take a walk around and see what I come up with. I get back to ya
soon with the answer.
Interesting way to get someone thinking. Our environment does reflect us
doesn't it? The Z.

The Z.

1. livingroom: there is a picture over the sofa of a tree-lined lane in the
woods in autumn. a collage of pics of my kids and wedding pics.
2. diningroom :there is a picture of a canoe and a little bridge in the
fall. (sensing a theme here...)
3. upstairs bathroom : there are two prints of cottages and a print of 3
Greek ladies by the sea... don't remember the artist.
4. chloe's room: an oil painting of a tiger done by my father in the 70's,
many many prints of tigers.
5. autumn's room: two classic Winnie the Pooh tapestries, and an Autumn
Fairy print.
6. Christian and Nolan's room: Lord of the Rings posters, Attack of the
Clones posters, various framed NHL pictures and other hockey pictures. A
photo of Christian as a toddler.
7. David's room: photos of his parents, various maps and paintings by Quebec
artists.
8. family room: a vintage Guinness sign done is dark wood, various cottage
prints by M.G. Smith, photos of all the kids, assorted other paintings.
9. Scarlett's room (my bedroom): a framed portrait of me at age 7, painted
by my dad in the 70's., a Bougereau print of an angel, various fairy art, a
map of Australia, a beautiful lighthouse painting framed in white wood, 3
Victorian paintings of young girls, and a tapestry of kangaroos I bought in
Melbourne.
10. downstairs bathroom: 2 prints that are hard to explain. but very sweet
and homey.

In the last year, I ridded the entire home of all wallpaper, excluding my
bedroom and David's bedroom. Repainted everything and the children have
themed bedrooms. Autumn's is a Classic Winnie the Pooh room, in a pale
buttery yellow and blue denim. Chloe's is a Tiger Jungle themed, with dark
violet walls and lots of greenery. The boys share a blue and white Hockey
themed room.

I want to paint my room dark red or nay blue, but with all the furniture in
it and the heavy computer desk, I am a procrastinator.

The family room is nicest in the winter, with the Christmas tree up and the
fireplace on... But in the summer, our sunroom is very comfy.
My bedroom is a good retreat...Everything in it reflects me. People rarely
venture in.
The house is a 5 bedroom raised ranch style. It also has a summer kitchen
and dining area on the lower level. Lots of room, because lots of people
live here and we are all a little on the solitary side.

Ok, nuff of that...
Scarlett

Oh, I love O'Keefe and Carr. And the others in the "group of four" (?).

I have a print of Susan Seddon Boulet, plus calendars by her.

Hi Hexe,

I find, more and more, that possession that don't have meaning (or utility)
are just not worth keeping in my life. I'm really trying to decrease my
"stuff".

By the way, I've ordered the cedar beads and drilled holes in the berries.
