I wish my damn digital camera was working so I could take a picture and post
it :(
Does anyone else have any of this kind of artwork?
hahaha!
I sell tons of folk art supplies, but you knew that, right? Do you want a
book on folk art, Larry? I have tons of samples - folk art books, they're
instructional, are big sellers for us. I'll send you one. :) Today!
Anyway, my apartment is full of folk art stuff. Benches, paper towel
holders, wall plaques, cookie jars, cabinets, I even have a folk art floor
mat. One of the biggest selling books we have was called Snow Jobs - they
just came out with a "Snow Jobs 2". These folk art ladies tend to be quite
religious (not that there's anything wrong with that!) and very "sweet".
Angels are a huge theme, little cute gremlins, baby animals, etc.
Of course, I mock them all because I'm very mean. But I do love folk art.

I did not know that you sold folk art supplies, beautiful Jean. Myself, I
could never do it, as I don't think it would mean the same as the stuff I was
looking at yesterday. Down Home Southern folk art. Genuine stuff. Check out
the link of her stuff:

here's a picture of what I bought:

I sat and talked to her for awhile yesterday...exceptionally interesting lady.
I'm gonna go out to her produce stand (in the sticks) and look at some more of
her stuff. I figured it might be cheaper there than at some hoity-toity art
show in my area.

So when we put are stuff together, this won't stand out like a sore thumb.
Perfect!
A folk art floor mat I'd be curious to see...

you *are* wicked mean.
Not to go way off topic...but I found myself being "very mean" this past
weekend in AGC. I don't know if you caught it or not, but I called a woman a
"Hateful wench". Hee hee.
But dammit, she was.

just kidding, I just tried 'em again..they work with me. Wonder why you can't
get to them? Try again, let me know if not.
Very neat-o.

That's going to be lotsa fun. The best word to describe folk art is
charming, it really adds warmth and character to a home. I love my stuff.
At the warehouse here in Calgary - where I am now - my sister used to hire
various folk artists to come in, the ones who have published books, and
they'd teach classes and leave her with the pieces they used to teach with.
These women are mini celebrities in the folk art world - so I got my hands
on some amazing stuff!

Exactly, my love! It will be a seamless merge, much like...oh, well, this
is a public newsgroup, I forgot that for a moment. We'll discuss it in
breathless detail when I get home though!

It has pears on it, it's going to go in front of my kitchen sink.

Oh yeah, I caught it - the Florida "highway terrorist" thread. I considered
making a post in asd/f that you had "left us", or were at least cheating on
us. Slut.

I'd love to see some of it. Do you have your walls adorned with all kinds of
art? How do you integrate all the different art pieces? (designer I'm not)

Can't wait. When do you get home, anyway?

You shoulda made a post in that thread. Was I terribly out of line, or did you
get the idea she was a racist bimbo too?
Plus, I would never ever leave you guys. Just, uh, don't see it being much fun
in here lately.

THAT'S THE ONE I'M GOING BACK TO GET! It was $750 (!) at the art show, I'm
sure it will be cheaper at the produce stand. Not that I want to shortchange
her or anything...even she kind of gave me a wink when she told me to come and
buy stuff directly from her.
>
>And the one you bought.
Thanks. I need to figure out whether to frame it (Jean? Help?) in some funky
way or just hang it naturally.
