I received this in e-mail and thought posted anonymously would be an
interesting discussion  :-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -
-----------

I have been watching your dialog on one of the newsgroups relative to
passing and wanted to ask you something about your philosophy (if this
is too personal, please don't feel obligated to answer):  Do you feel
that breasts are ok to wear even if you don't have them yourself?  I
have a very flat chested male body, but I don't feel comfortable going
out without my breast forms.  I've gotten to the point that I don't
really care too much if I'm 'read', but feel much more feminine with the
breast forms.  I'd really like your opinion.

What I'm wrestling with here is the concept of really 'being myself' vs.
some caricature of what a woman should be.  It's just that 'being
myself' when I'm en femme seems to be 'with breasts' rather than really
just as I am in that department.

--------------------------------------------------------------

My response:

That is a tough one.. I still do wear forms at times but more "just for
fun"..

Here's a picture of the style or look I dress about 99% of the time..

http://members.tripod.com/~stephe_2/parkinglot.jpg

then about 1% I feel like "playing the passing game" for funsies and dress
sorta like this..(with small forms)

http://members.tripod.com/~stephe_2/dalonaga.jpg

I guess I feel like to really be true to myself I don't wear them and have
actually been thinking about hormones just for that reason :-) but still not
sure that's being true to myself either..  I think about what I would think
of a woman who had a sock in her pants trying to pass as a man.. Or had a
fake beard..  Is she really being herself? Or is she trying to look like
what people expect a man to look like? Same with us.. I guess too I've
gotten ma'amed many times as my flat chested self so breasts do not a woman
make.. I really am not trying to pass judgement on what YOU should do but
for me it feels like I'm playing a game wearing them..(which can still be
fun!) just not something I would do 24/7..

The same goes for me : wearing false boobs can be fun for fantasy sometimes
(and no, I don't pass any better with them), but they're not necessary for my
feeling femme. BTW, looks like it's hard to find good (i.e. natural looking)
breast forms ....

My opinion is: wear them if you like them, the feeling or other things
you get from them (if better passing is important for you). If you think
you shouldnīt because others might take them for a body part of yours
donīt bother, if you feel you shouldnīt wear them donīt.

As far as I am concerned, walking around with ordinary clothing (you
canīt tell fromthe clothing wether man or not quite), normal rest (like
porte-monnaie in the back pocket, male-looking watch (it is my only one)
etc. walking around with falsies give me a bit of satisfaction (I donīt
mean I get horny or so) and I can dream the dream of having "real" ones
(hormones or implants?) someday.
The other aspect is that I want to find out how others react-so far no
results (but the experiment "androgynous male with boobs" is just
starting.

Greetings from Germany, Norman.

For my 2 cents, I just feel better wearing them.  But then, they're not all
false.  I've used herbals to get some small bit of growth, and use silicone
pads in a wonderbra.  So it's really the same as some women would wear!

This is an interesting discussion and the concept is one that I often
wonder about.  I especially wonder when I am in the presence of my SO.
I really like the feel, as the other girls mentioned, and I like the
way they present the clothes that you wear over them.  The clothes just
hang better and make you feel prettier!  One way I look at it is that
it is a little like a gg wearing shoulder pads to alter her
presentation.  Move the shoulder pads down and around a bit and there
isn't much difference.

I use shoulder pad to fill my bra sometimes :-)

Hi Stephe and Others-

I wear a pair of forms I got from Victoria's Secret at one of the local
malls.  They help me feel more attractive and I hope they are giving me
some sense of what it will feel like to have bigger natural breasts once I
get on hormone therapy.

This should not be construed as a statement that I think everyone should
wear breast forms.  I don't see anything wrong with wearing them if they
help you feel better about yourself or for any other reason YOU may want
to wear them.  However, DON'T wear them because you think OTHERS want you
to wear them so you look more like a person born female.  Or for any other
reason OTHERS may want you to wear them.  When you ask yourself "why do I
wear breast forms", examine each answer: does that answer honestly come
from within yourself, or from outside influences?

Love,

Charlene
