Personally, I suspect that some of the reticence displayed to bring the eggs
to market, as a Crohn's therapy, is also on the side of the patients. Can
the doctors drum up enough patients for statistically significant clinical
trials, which require hundreds of patients per arm - verum and placebo (read
investigational drug and sugar tablet)? We have spent decades trying to get
rid of our parasites and chronic infections: lice, fleas, tapeworms,
nematode worms, fungi, amoeba, mosquitoes and infecting ourselves
deliberately as a medical therapy requires a complete change in mindset.

I believe that we might have had one person here who reported that they were
going to try it, but I don't remember them reporting back. However, no
health insurance company would cover it, as an unproven (to the regulatory
authorities) treatment, and it was going to cost a few thousand dollars for
a month's treatment or so. If I remember rightly Mexico might have been
mentioned or it might not have been.
If you try it please let us know how you get on. However, a search of the
NIH clinical trials database does not reveal an actively recruiting TSO
clinical trial in the USA, where you might be based.

To my knowledge, the treatment has only been market authorised in Thailand
(as a natural treatment). Companies have been set up in Germany and
Thailand, but no market authorisation has been obtained for Europe)

Only when a drug has been market authorised by the national regulatory
authority, for example the FDA in the USA, will a health insurer consider
covering costs.
In Germany, if the doctor, signs a statement to the effect that the
treatment is absolutely necessary as a last resort and having exhausted all
other avenues then we can import the worms from Denmark, but the treatment
still has a big question mark over it. On the downside we have to pay for it
ourselves and the treating doctor has full responsibility should something
go wrong. I suspect that there are few doctors who would actually take this
risk. T. suris is not a natural parasite of the humans and thus the
treatment must be repeated ever couple of weeks (worm survives only a couple

In the good old days when we all had worms, without exception, 300-500 out
of every thousand children didn't reach their fifth birthday, indubitibly
selecting out those with the weakest and/or damaged immune systems, amongst
them IBD and patients with other (auto)immune disease. Compare the current
