But then, I have a cat which seems to have adopted me. It sits outside the
window, mewing piteously until I open it, and then wanders around the
place, rubbing affectionately against everything it finds, mobile or not.
Afew days ago I heard it mewing ad went to the window to open it, only to
discover it wasnt there. Further investigation led to me discovering it was
actually in the (closed) bottom drawer of my filing cabinet.

When I opened it, kitty just climbed out nonchalantly as though being in a
filing cabinet was the most natural thing in the world. Even though I
suspect s/he (I haven't looked) might have been there at least a day.

Incidentally, this is the 'stray' I may have mentioned before who refuses
all food, up to and including finest scottish salmon, yet looks up at us
(just me, now) and mews piteously as though it hasn't eaten in weeks
