Mass governor Swift denies Gerald Amirault freedom because he "refuses to admit
he's guilty for sexually abusing preschoolers" at the family's Child Care
Center in Massachusetts.

Editorials in the Boston Globe and Christian Science Monitor call for his
release.

One of the interesting angles brought out in the story was that the Child Care
center constantly had people going in and out. However, from personal
experience I know how emotional parents get when they think of kids being
abused at preschool.

But, on reflection, there are always folk (parents) coming and going in
preschools which have over 20 kids.

I've also seen editorial in the Wall Street Journal.

You *know* you've lost your political base when both the Wall Street
Journal AND The Nation are lining up against you.

But the Nation article said that Swift was refusing to commute
Amirault's sentence because of her fear of reprecussions at the polls
in November. Since then, Swift has said she's not running for
re-election. Still no Amirault commutation, though.

Isn't he the last remnant of a much larger
false accusation mess where the accusers were
soundly defeated? Do they have any evidence
on this guy? It's like having one last
person from the McMartin Preschool fiasco
STILL in prison, isn't it?
Wasn't the case overall, widely discredited?

Here are several links:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=amirault+tooky+swift
http://cltg.org/cltg/amirault/amiraults.htm

I was looking for a page maintained by a particular person, but don't see it.
However, the above are good. It's remarkable how slowly the state has moved
against the state's priests (until recently) vs. how reluctant they are to
let an innocent man free.

It's also amazing that some parents and children (now adults) are steadfast in
their belief that Amirault is guilty, even though there some claims were
disproven (e.g. no tunnel). The people who should be in jail are some of the
"psychologists" who coaxed the stories out of young children.

Stay out of Massachusetts.

This is the page on the Amiraults maintained by Bob Chatelle. Ric, is
this the page you're referring to? Re the Wall Street Journal,
Dorothy Rabinowitz of that paper has been writing about the Amiraults,
Wenatchee and sexual abuse witchhunts for years.

It's sad to realize how our Constitution has eroded.
The founding fathers would spin in their graves.

Which ones, the slaveholders or John "Alien and Sedition" Adams?

There have ALWAYS been forces opposing liberty and freedom in the USA.
Freedom is always a work in progress. I don't think the threats to
liberty are today greater nor less than they were 200 years ago; just
different.

But there are VASTLY MORE laws, more bad laws,
and there are many more technocrats.
This "Administrative Law" stuff is a death by inches.
