I have had lumps in my breasts for about 16yrs, I have had 4 mammograms
2 needle biopsies etc. I recently found a lump under my left arm, the
doctor sent me for a mammogram, yesterday the nurse called and said the
doctor wanted me to have an ultrasound of my lump under my arm, the
problem is I cannot seem to find the lump anymore, should I still have
the ultrasound, or cancel it? If it is cancer could it have moved or
changed in 3 weeks, I am scared to death, and am scheduled to have the
ultrasound on friday, this probably seems like a stupid problem, but
anyone with any advise would help alot. thank-you

Yes!!!!!!!! Have the ultrasound done. Hopefully it is/was just a swollen
lymph node due to an infection, but you need to know what it is. If it is
anything, you need to get it taken care of ASAP. If it is nothing, then you
need that assurance sanity wise. I'm sure I'm speaking for alot of people
when I say this; no question or problem is stupid or irrelevant, especially
when it deals with cancer!!!!Let me know your results.

You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Wanda

Have the test. It may not be anything of concern., If having the
test scares you, what would happen if it is cancer and you don't
have it diagnosed as early as possible should absolutely petrify
you.

Have the ultrasound.
If your lump has really disappeared, then that's brilliant, but you have
nothing to lose by having the ultrasound scan, which in itself is
nothing to be afraid of. How long was the lump there for?
