I finished chemo in Dec '06, and PN is about the only remaining effect
aside from being above ground so long. Most of the time, I feel
normal, but sometimes I have numbness or even tingling in the hands
and/or feet. I don't think there's anything you can do about it. My
onc said it should go away over time, though sometimes it doesn't.
Chemo does a lot of damage to nerve cells, and it can take them a
while to recover. I can't speak to the diabetes part of it. Good
luck on the cancer treatment. For some (I hope we're both in this
group), cancer becomes just a somewhat unpleasant memory. Plan to
wave to it in the rearview mirror, and don't use too many fingers.
