Today I got smiles, hand-shakes (responded with YEAH and fist pump) at
my Oncologists office. 3-1/2 years out and clear C/T scan (NED) for
both areas. Blood work excellent (A+ claims the Nurse Practitioner)
which also shows my Diabetes II is under control.
The Doc scheduled one more 6-mo visit with C/T scan then switch to
annual visits with no more C/T scans anticipated.
Life is good.

Congratulations, Marsha. Keep up the good work!

Spelling doesn't count. Cooking does.
If it was the former, then I'm sort of miffed that I was needlessly
painfully poked.
Ah well, life is still sweet.

Indeed. Congratulations, Marsha.

Congrats on the clean bill of health! Your message made me smile.
It's nice when they say they don't want to see you as often. Much as
I like my onc, I'd rather not visit often.
I found a lot of difference in how much the port access hurt based on
who did it. One nurse was sort of careful and tentative, and the
stick hurt a bit. Another was always very quick, and it felt more
like being jabbed with a finger than being stabbed with a needle.
This happened with regular vein sticks, too. One guy in the scan area
always seems to hit a vein the first try without much pain---sometimes
it barely feels like he did anything. Another has failed a few times,
one visit taking about five or six tries to get a vein and leaving me
quite bruised. I can't say how weight loss would affect it though, so
it could be either.
