I got scanned last week. Looks clear again. I now have been NED since Jan 07, '05
Dx Small Cell Lung Cancer 6/29/03
Radiation and chemo knocked it out until my 6 week check up Mets in my cerebellum
More Radiation. Whole Brain this time. More NED scans, then a Met in my Hipocampus. It was
zaped by CyberKnife.
Now creeping up on 5yr NED/6 1/2 since dx.

Congrats, bobert. NED are the 3 best letters in the alphabet.
Janet, 3 years NED but needing a barium swallow next week for probably
radiation scar tissue in my esophagus.

Spelling doesn't count. Cooking does.
Ditto on the congrats! Thanks, Bobert, for posting that. This group
has been pretty quiet lately, and your positive post really made my
morning. Keep up the good news.
Janet, I hope the treatment goes well.

No news of my own, but I guess that's good news too

Congrats you both.
I hope it's easily manageable, whatever it is, Janet.

Same to you all.
What happened with you Marc?
We never heard back about the scan of neck lumps you mentioned last August.
J
Had an MRI - they messed up and did only the skull which, unless I did
worse than I thought in ninth grade biology, is above the neck...
Finally had a CAT scan a few weeks ago; Haven't heard anything from the
docs yet. I'm assuming that no contact means they didn't find any little
aliens having taken up residence in my neck... :)
On the (more) positive side: Nerve function in the right side of my face
is coming back... ever so s...l...o...w...l...y :) But I can slightly
move the right side of my mouth and if I really screw my face up like an
idiot in front of the mirror, raise my right eyebrow a tiny fraction of a
millimeter - That's not much at all, but, to my great pleasure, it's not
nothing, either :)
Still completely numb on the right aft side of my face, but I know
that'll never change - they had to take quite a chunk out of the nerve on
that side 'cuz the tumour had gone right through it. I'll take movement
over feeling, but it's still odd.
Still finding being deaf on one side hard to get used to, even after all
this time. The phone can ring seven times with me searching all over for
it, only to (finally) notice it was (literally) right in front of me :)
My daughter thinks that's hillarious, so at least there's a positive
there :)
Overall, life is good. This time, two years ago, I was in a hospital bed,
terrified to go to sleep for fear of drowning in my own saliva - Life is
so much better now :) :) :)
Wishing everyone a healthy new year.
Good to hear your news, Bobert! Best Christmas gift ever. And from
you Janet & Marc. Wishing you all well in the coming new year.
