disappointing pathology--what's next

To be very brief, I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. A Gleason 3+4 became a 4+3. Lymph nodes and seminal vessicles were clear but there was perineural invasion, extracaps. penetration, and one small positive focal margin (0.5 mm). That has really bummed me out. They are not advocating adjuvant radiation.... more »

Still undetectable PSA. Biggest surprise was my low carb high fat diet has my cholesterol down to an all time low of 202 from high of about 250. So my advice to all you PCA survivors concerned about dietary issues... live it up a little and have a steak, bloody rare with lobster & mushrooms soaked in... more »

Just checking in from Toronto. My husband Joe just received his latest PSA results and things are not looking too good. In July he was 8.09 and now his PSA is 23! The doctor has scheduled him for an MRI and wants him to begin HT asap. Will keep you posted. Cheers, Karen.
