Just got back from LabCorp for the all important PSA test draw which
will reveal if my aggressive "bastard" is the resistant or non-resistant
HT variety. Since I was diagnosed last august with a 4.2 PSA, 9 & 10
Gleason's, I started treatment with 30 days of Casodex, 45 IMRT
sessions, & Lupron every 90 days. I will see the Dr tues for the
results & my 4th Lupron shot. I believe the Dr said that if my PSA
still remains @ <.10 we will wait and see for 6 months before getting
another PSA reading. I will let you guys know what's up after I get my
results on tuesday. Mike

Mike,

Typically, you go through the initial treatments (ADT and IMRT in your case)
and then a period of watching your PSA. In your case (and mine) during the
phase of watching, you'll remain on ADT. So, for every three months, you'll
get a shot and a blood test. Eventually, he might go to 3-month shots and
6-month tests. Or, 4-month shots and 4-month tests. Or 6-month shots and
tests.

Regardless, this phase will last until that bastards surfaces again (i.e.,
your PSA is greater than 0.10). When that happens, actually after at least
one more blood draw to make sure, you'll go onto another treatment regimen.
