November 21st-23rd, I'll be participating in a very special event
called the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of
other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer
research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G.
Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust.
According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation this year:
· Over 200,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed.
· Almost 40,000 women will die from breast cancer.
· Approximately 1,300 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
· More than 400 men will die from breast cancer.
· Roughly 3,000,000 people have breast cancer in the U.S.
· 1,000,000 of them don’t know it!
That's why I'm walking so far.
To increase awareness, to support early detection, to find a cure…
I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by
supporting me in my fundraising efforts. Every walker has agreed to
raise at least $2,000 in donations by October. I've set my personal
goal at $4,000. So I need your help. Would you please consider making
a donation? Remember, each walker has a minimum goal of $2000 to
strive for. Help me reach and exceed mine. Any amount is helpful and
appreciated, whether it is $250 or $10. Remember - $10 from 100
people is the same as $250 from 4. Please take a look at the attached
donation form and designate the amount that's right for you or donate
online at www.breastcancer3day.org. Please keep in mind how far I'm
walking -- and how hard I'll have to train.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Carrie Wren

For example, I am very familiar with a nutritional supplement that is
proving very worthy of more widespread use and/or testing. It is being
tried privately overseas on an ad-hoc basis, no full clinicals as yet.
Astoundingly, 35% of terminal Stage IV patients who have exhausted all
other methods, and told to make peace with their maker are in perfect
health in 6-12 months. No tumors, no evidence of cancer, and their
immune system is at full strength again, regardless of the pre-existing
condition at the time of starting the regimen.
The remaining cases show very good promise and they have regained their
health, but can not be classified as in remission. Sadly, some cases
are in such poor condition when they start that they don't make it three
weeks. The disadvantage in these case trials, is that the supplement
would be much more effective in the Stage I-II patients, and is
estimated that at least a 75% remission rate may easily be achieved if
it could be started then. It is proving effective on any type of
cancer, not just a few types.
What's more, the regimen is relatively simple - three ounces per day for
21-42 days, and perhaps longer for more severe cases, with no adverse
side effects, and it is totally organic. Significant clinical
improvements have been documented within weeks of starting the
supplement. The principle is a simple one - work with the immune system
and provide certain ingredients to strengthen and enhance the immune
system, versus a full frontal attack with chemo drugs that depletes the
immune system. The drawback is that in the U.S. it requires a
prescription for one of the ingredients, and thus will have to fight the
FDA battle. This specific ingredient is available in most parts of the
world OTC. The problem is that this supplement would not pass the
required FDA in-vitro or animal tests as it was designed strictly for
the human body to augment the immune system. It's a Catch-22 problem.
However, this only alleviates the physical effects of cancer, it does
not resolve the underlying causes. The patient must be willing to
change their approach to life, and consider the holistic regimen of
physical, mental, and spiritual to prevent a recurrence. Prolonged
stress is the primary cause of cancer, no doubt about it, as it will
destabilize one or more of the six primary levels of the immune system
quicker than anything else.
This aspect in my opinion and perspective is the most overlooked by the
health care industry today. They can shoot you full of chemo,
radiation, or other medical treatments, and a person can achieve
regression. However, the underlying behavior(s) that got a person into
the throes of cancer must be alleviated, and is not being properly
addressed in the aftercare of oncology patients.
Well enough of the soapbox for now, but the supplement is for real. The
researchers are so confident in the supplement that the idea of a money
back guarantee for a treatment program is a part of the business plan.
Like many novel or different approaches in research medicine, a lack of
investors and needed funding is critical at this time. They are looking
for some key private investors, not the Vulture Capital kind.
What's more amazing, is how many people tend to roll their eyes in
disbelief when you tell them that you just might have a potential cure.
Even when the facts are in front of them!!!!
Which leads right back to the original post about billions being poured
into mainstream research, and not enough for "new" avenues of research.
Why? Because the bulk of grant and research money is biased towards
mainstream research. The powers that be (you can read that as
pharmaceuticals) won't get their cut, and/or they don't have the rights
to it.
It seems Occam's razor - "often times the simplest explanation is the
most correct," is not highly regarded in the complexity of modern medicine.
