My nineteen year old son used to take that. He is both ADD and
obsessive-compulsive. It worked better for the ADD than for
obsessive-compulsive. It is also an anti-depressant and had a good effect on
his overall mood. We never observed any negative side effects. The usual ADD
drugs that help so many people had too many negative side effects for him.
Not everyone is affected the same way from the same drugs.
He is now on Zoloft and we get much better results with the obsessive
compulsive. (less so with the ADD). Sometimes you just have to try different
things. In our case, we have to choose which disorder is more of a problem.
ADD is not swell, but obsessive compulsive can be worse.
We are presently trying biofeedback for the ADD, but it has only been a
week--too soon to have any real results.
