Well, I go down to do the blood work (at my rheumy's and they'll fax it to
the infusion center) so I can get my first Reclast infusion. As soon as
they get the blood work, they will call me with an appointment. The blood
work has to be fairly current, so I imagine the infusion should be fairly
soon. Prayers needed as I'm nervous about it. The last time I remember
getting something *new* was when we bought the 9th and 10th Yugos here in
town! LOL Actually, they ran pretty good, but the repair work was all
black box. They absolutely couldn't get one fixed. I loved the way they
drove, but if you can't depend on it.

Pray all will go well tomorow and you will get your appointment very
soon--and that it works!

Well, this morning I think I have a UTI - waiting to hear back from the
Rheumy's nurse. I called the infusion place and they said it usually
depends on the doctor - generally all have to wait until antibiotics are
through. Darn. I just wasn't sure whether I should go ahead and get the
blood work done.

Nurse just called and..........complicated - will update later.

oh, my. someone who owned a Yugo! How I remember speeding past fully loaded

My Reclast go better for you than Yugo's term in the US did!

yes please keep us updated. I hope you don't have the UTI and it holds
things up for you. I hope all goes well. It sounds like it might not though
with things being complicated. Can't wait to hear what you find out.

Loujean,

Sorry to hear about the UTI and hope you can clear it quickly and get on
with your blood work and such.

Sorry also to hear that things have gotten complicated. Hope you can
resolve the complications and have the infusion!

Well, I went down to the Urologist today and they did a catherization to get
a urine sample which will be sent out for culture. They won't get the
results until Monday, so the doctor put me on Bactrim to carry me through.
I also the blessed Pyridium. The Rheumy told me to go ahead and get the
blood work done as it would be a week before they would get a decision and
set up an appointment. I just have to be off antibiotics, from what I
understand.

So, that's where it stands now.

The infusion of Reclast is scheduled for Sep 18, the week before I see the
ortho for 2nd opinion on TKR of my left knee.

Will eagerly await hearing how it goes. It is something I have considered
in the future - I just can't take so many of the other meds.

Good luck,
Kelly

Me, too. I usually have no forewarning about a UTI. All at once I'm peeing
fire! My PCP gave me a goodly amount of Pyridium which would get me through
a weekend, if I had to go that long. They tell me that it doesn't affect a
reading or a culture. Thank goodness for that. Of course, there is the
orange color; at least I know the circuit is clear! LOL

I never get a warning either, I go to the drs and they find it. They usually
give me macrobid or something like that, I think that is right.
