Signing off until the 29th of December. Everyone have a great Christmas/
holiday/ time with your family and stay healthy. No broken bones, no broken
hearts. Only good things - healing thoughts for all of you and your
families.

Prayers will continue for those of you that are in so need of it this year.
Rose - hopefully your cold is almost gone.

Off to Seattle with my son. My nephew has a week's worth of things to cram
into 2 days. Good thing Marc is coming with me - he can play games with him
until the cows come home.

Have fun, Kelly. I hope the weather is wonderful and that your time
away provides a wonderful respite from all the painful stuff going on
in your life.
I had a rheumie appt in Penticton, and stayed over an extra day. the
weather was coastal; it was rainy but there was no snow so I could
actually walk!! I came home to total ice all over everywhere. the road
in front of my house looks shiny like a skating rink. Walking
anywhere, even to go into the doctor's office today, is treacherous.

My cold has turned into a sinus infection. I also have a fungus under
one of my toenails. the nail was growing almost perpendicular to the
nailbed. the doctor had an awful time trying to cut off the nail after
taking a scraping. in the end, he cut himself with the scalpel. I felt
so badly for him. Hopefully, nothing will develop for him. he did
clean his wound right away, so hopefully that will take care of it. it
takes a month to culture a fungus so I won't know what I am dealing
with for a while. silly me; I never realized there were different
kinds of nail fungi. when you consider the long term doxycycline and
frequent antibiotics for sinus infections and along with surgery, it
is not a surprise that I developed this.

Someone is having a nice time? Good. I used to read a migraine group
and headings like that sometimes turned out to be suicide notes. This
is much better.

Clicking on a post was like lifting the lid at arm's length on a
Tupperware bowl that has been in the fridge for a long time. I rarely
get the headaches any more so I dropped it. Not the Tupperware,
well...you know.

After my husband died, I joined a grief group for a while. Then it just
seemed like none of them were going on with life. They were just stuck in
one place. I knew my husband wouldn't have wanted me thinking like that, so
I dropped that group.

That is a problem. When my sister was first diagnosed with MS she had a
monstrously positive attitude and went to a support group and collected
stories of people who were doing well despite it. She quit the group
after the second meeting because nobody did anything except whine about
their symptoms and she dropped the articles after some of the people
dropped out of sight or died...Anette Funicello, Richard Pryor, and
others. Now she just muddles on and keeps the spirits up as much as
possible.

We knew someone who lived with MS for a good 30 years. More than 20 years
into it, he was diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months to live. He pulled
out of it, then they said the same thing the next time the cancer appeared.
The 3rd time the cancer showed up, his doctor wisely refused to give a
prognosis. It was either the 4th or 5th recurrance that finally proved too
much, but it was cancer that took him, not MS. Thre are people who do fairly
well with MS but they're probably all busy living. I know Jim was.

Support groups have personalities. Some are a better fit than
others. I think we have a pretty good balance here. A place to
whine when we need to, to ask for help or share information, and a
place to cheer each other up and cheer each other on whenever and
however we can.

Wishing the blessings of the season to each and every one of you.
