Hi Everyone,

You don’t have to read this if you don't want to. No one is obligated to
read it. :-) What *I* understand the results to be are that they found
mucus in my sinus cavity calling it sinusitis. I have a nasal spray to use
twice a day for 3 months to see if the coughing and choking on mucus goes
away or not. There are some lesions and this could be from all the
migraines I had for all those years. I don't know why they kept referring
to me having hypertension because I have never had that before. My BP has
always been normal until a few months ago and then it actually went down,
not up. There were no masses, thank God! But, the report says I *may* have
MS. My GP referred me to an internist, who I will see on May 8 and he will
set up an appt. for me at the hospital for a spinal tap. I have to say that
I am really scared to have this done, but I'll have it done regardless. I'm
going to ask if they numb the area at least a little bit before they do the
tap. My anxiety is up because of this, but as I said, I still will have it
done. The results will probably not be seen until 4 weeks or more because
it has to be sent out to another lab farther away from here. I'll update
you when I hear anything. Thanks for your support. That's about all I can
remember. :-)

Gentle hugs,

Diane

10:30pm Evening Diane. If it is sinusitis, there are many items on the
market per script or otc that will help. My Neph prescribed a nasal
spray for me for my Sinusitis that helped my problem a lot that was
causing me to get even less sleep.. I do hope the testing for MS is
negaive.. Prayers continued. (((((((((Diane))))))))))

Been there done that with the sinusitis thing.

I constantly battle sinus issues and like Moe, use nasal sprays to help.

I have a number of allergies, so the sinus stuff is always a constant
battle.

If the sinuses are constantly draining, it surely could explain the
coughing/choking. That stuff draining down the back of your throat can
be irritating.

Diane, the spinal tap isn't really too bad. For me, the minute or two
of unpleasantness wasn't all that bad. I had what they call a spinal
headache afterwards and that was far worse then the actual spinal tap.

I had to lay flat for a couple of days, because every time I sat up or
stood up, the spinal headache was horrendous. They told me most people
don't ever get that, but a few do. Lucky me! LOL

We're going to be believing and praying that you do NOT have MS until we
hear otherwise!

Hang in there! Getting answers really is half the battle.

Morning Moe. :-) Thank you so much. I'm already on a nasal spray,
Omnaris, which I have to spray twice a day for the next three months to see
if it gets rid of the mucus that I choke and cough on. Oh, thank you so
much about the MS testing. I'll be seeing the internist on May 8 and then
he'll schedule me for a spinal tap at the hospital. I am really scared
about that test, but I don't dwell on it. :-) Take care sweetie.

Gentle hugs,

Diane

Thank you so much Donna. I'm so glad you said that about the spinal tap. I
already knew it accompanied a headache. :-( Just didn't want to say it out
loud. LOL I've suffered from severe migraines everyday for years. They
finally went away after menopause. They reappeared last Aug. when we were
visiting my Mom in Fla. I don't know why they came back, but they did.
Since then, I've only had two migraines and a few slight headaches here and
there. I'm going to ask my doctor if he can prescribed something for the
headache pain, maybe Tylenol #3. That's with codeine and it may help. So
sorry you had to be one of the ones who got the headache. :-( I'm going to
be prepared for anything. LOL Meals that Don can nuke for us, etc. Also,
I have Omnaris spray for my nose and my GP wants to see if this takes away
the mucus, coughing and choking. Hope so. Thanks again Donna. I agree
with your last line. :-) I'm hanging in there. You do the same.

Gentle hugs,

Diane

Thankfully, not everyone gets the headaches after a spinal tap and those
that do don't always get them after every spinal tap.

I have had a few spinal taps and thankfully, only twice did I get those
spinal headaches. The other times, I didn't. Yes! lol

Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids to help thin out any stuff
from the sinuses.

I also use a spran and use a netti pot regularly. That thing is amazing
in helping the sinuses and cutting back the sinus infections, etc.

Thank you Donna. That really reassures me. :-) It's just that I had
migraines for so many years and had them everyday that I can pretty much
predict getting a spinal headache. It's okay. I'm going to be really
prepared for it, just in case. LOL Dinners ready so Don can nuke them,
pain meds, etc. :-) And, if I don't get one, I will feel very fortunate.
So sorry you had to go through that a few times. :-( I drink a lot of
fluids everyday and at night too. I need to keep hydrated always so there's
no problem there. I have Omnaris from my GP for 3 months. The really weird
thing about this sinusitis is that I have NO symptoms for it whatsoever.
Another mystery. LOL I haven't had a sinus infection in years and I always
knew when I had the start of one, but now, there are no signs of it. Only
came up on the MRI. Really weird, eh? Thanks for your input. You know I
always appreciate it Donna. Have a great weekend.

Gentle hugs,

Diane

Not really all that unusual, Diane.

I think when we have a lot of allergies and such, we don't even realize
at times that our sinuses might be draining.

I know some times my lung doctor will mention to me to quit clearing my
throat so much. I don't even know that I am doing it, but he says it is
because of allergies and the fact that my sinuses are draining down the
back of my throat. Who knew? lol

I think our bodies become so accustomed to certain things, that we don't
even know those things are still going on! Crazy.

I always use my netti pot or a can of the Simply Saline on my sinuses no
matter what else I am on. For me, it seems to clean things out
regularly and cut down on how much my sinuses give me grief, although
sinuses can be an ongoing thing, especially when one has allergies and
lung issues.

Thank you Donna. I don't have any allergies either. My allergist tested me
for dog, cat, pollen, grass, trees, ragweed, etc., and everything came up
negative. I was shocked! All these years I thought I was allergic to at
least a few things, but she said no. I agree, though, that we do get so
used to things going on in our bodies that we might not even notice a thing
like a nasal drip. So sorry you also have to deal with allergies. I tried
Simply Saline when we went to visit my Mom in Fla. They don't sell it here
in Canada. It's okay though. I'm using the Omnaris everyday and every
night. I haven't coughed or choked since I've been on it, thankfully. :-)
So glad the netti pot and saline solution helps you. We need all the help
we can get. LOL

Gentle hugs,

Diane

9:57pm I also use the Saline Nasal rinse.. I was using it daily but not
lately, and I do know that I should be using it.. My goodness but that
rinse can bring up something.. my son got after me a few days ago about
not using the rinse anymore.. The Nasal spray has helped me so much. I'm
not coughing at night from that drainage going down my throat when it
gets ready.. Moe

So glad you're using it again, Moe. Not sure really if the Omnaris is
helping or not. Seemed to help one day or two, but I've only been on it for
a few days, I think. LOL It's really too early to tell. I hope you get
out today. What's your temp like today?

Gentle hugs,

Diane

That sounds much better, Moe. I'm glad at least it stopped raining. The
sun is out again here and it's about 70 also, but it's so windy that it
makes it feel chilly. I wore a turtleneck and a fleece jacket when we took
our walk in the woods. I kept pulling my sleeves up when we were protected
from the wind and then pulled them right down when we were out in the open
and it was windy again. LOL Up and down for over an hour, but it's better
than 3-4 layers of clothes, 20 degrees or less and high winds. I'm thankful
for the weather we've been having for the past week. :-)

Gentle hugs,

Diane
