I saw the rheumie yesterday to redo the paperwork for rituxan. In BC,
a new application needs to be made prior to each cycle of infusions.
The doc did say that changes were coming so that the forms need to be
filled out only once in a calendar year. That will be so much better.

Anyway, he prescribed ralivia which is tramadol for pain. I use a
great deal of T#3, and once I am at full dose of the ralivia, it is
hoped that I won't need as many T3s. Ralivia needs to be titrated up
to the maximum dose of 300 mgs. For 4 days I will take 100 mgs, then
200, and finally the 300. we will see how this goes. Right now my left
elbow is causing me a great deal of grief. Twenty-six years ago, I had
elbow debridement as a means of conserving the joint although even
then, surgery was indicated. the debridement bought me time; in fact a
great deal of time. Now though, I am not sure there is any life left
in this lf I could get it to a manageable level, I would be happy. At
least until after I have the other surgical procedures..

I've been on tramadol for about ten years for OA, RA and PPS.... at the same
dose the whole time which is 50 mg./one or two every 4-6 hrs. I usually
take 5-6 a day- and never after 6 pm as it causes insomnia for me if I take
it any later. It takes the edge off my pain but doesn't take away all the
pain. For me that's good. I tend to overdo anyway and if I didn't have
some pain I'd end up hurting myself. I hope it gives you relief. Best of
luck!

Thanks Leslie,
I hope so too. I know the 100 mgs is not doing anything, so I also
have T3s. I think ralivia is just the time release formula. you only
are allowed to take 300 mg per day, and you take it only once.

I've not heard of ralivia before but it sounds quite interesting. If my
fibro were still a the point it was a couple of years ago, I'd want to try
it! I'm mostly down to one tramadol a day now. I'm like Leslie - if I knock
pain down too much I'll overdo it. Because of that, i don't take anything
stronger unless there's something I *must* do. But I don't have the damage
you have.

Unlike Leslie, it doesn't wake me up. The one daily I take is before I go to
sleep. It usually carries me through that low point in the wee hours when
pain will often wake me otherwise. It also takes enough of an edge off the
whatever pain I have at that point to relax me enough for sleep.

My experience with tramadol is that it does take the edge off. I'd say it's
very much worth a try for yo and might cut back some on the T3.
