let's see if we can keep it going then x)
i did 5 miles on the bike thingy today.
I don't know if its worse to be underweight. I think overweight has greater
danger for health issues. I think it depends on how you feel and if your
health is ok. Do you have a yearly physical exam and get blood tests done?
Does your doctor think you are in good health?. I have been underweight
several times in my life but usually when I have been depressed for a period
of time. I was always slim till I was into my late 50's. Now I am medium
build, but I could lose about 10 lbs right now. One of my daughters is very
thin and was always thin and petite. I think she looks too thin, but thats
just her build. Its very hard for her to gain weight. Maybe you will have to
wait till you are older to gain weight, though there are people who never do
:)

As long as its not a bath *house* :)
What height are you? And as long as your organs work as they should, why
would you not be ok?
Why can't you run a marathon now? y ou are not that old. Lots of people into
their 60's/70's and older run marathons. I have a Japanese woman who I used
to work with who comes to Toronto every 6 months for a couple of weeks and
she walks miles each day and she's into her 70's and she's very thin and
short. She used to live in Toronto 10 years ago and in her 50's and 60's
would run in 26K marathons. I could never do that even when I was young.

Well, if you quit smoking you might gain weight. Do you have any serious
health problems? What does your doctor say about your health?

Even if you are underweight, the state of your health is the most important
factor. Some people are just underweight, like my daughter, but she eats
fine and doesn't seem to have any serious health issues. My one sister in
law is very thin too and is in her late 60's and she is very underweight.
She doesn't seem to have anything wrong with her and walks along the road
like a young person. Are any of your parents very thin? Quite often your
body build is hereditary and if y ou would eat a pig, maybe thats just how
you are.

Yes, I hope they are wrong on that. Doctors can be wrong you know :)

I sympathize with you as I get the same reaction. Exercise just makes me
tired and it takes a few days to recover. When I did regular exercise, my
blood pressure increased, my cholesterol levels went out of the normal range
and I was always tired. I gave up on exercise and all returned to previous
levels.....go figure. I even feel less tired.

i feel quite anxious now. certainly exercising
releases a lot of adrenaline into the blood, which
does seem like a bad idea for anxiety sufferers.
but maybe this can be reduced by keeping the
strenousness of the exercise quite low?
but also, maybe if you can increase your
general level of fitness this will reduce
anxiety levels over time - or maybe not?
does anyone know of any studies into the
positive/negative effects of exercise on
anxiety conditions?
i do not know the answers but i will try to
keep exercising unless it becomes obvious that
it is counter productive =/

Way to go, Thor. I remember when I started jogging I was afraid I'd have a
panic attack. And I did have 1 or 2 at first, but then got used to the
jogging and didn't have any more.
