lol......well Mart if you "remember to take them" and notice a difference let us know..I'm curious to see if that stuff really works. I think we could all use it! I do that little trick of putting something on my bedroom floor (sometimes a disconnect notice) to make sure I get it taken care of that day LOL.......

I'm having trouble with my memory, and I know it's my general anxiety. That gets better with time.
I keep lists to remember, but I tend to over-commit when I make lists. I keep a calendar on the wall, where I don't miss it. When I carried a brief-case to work all the time, I used the Month-at-a-Glance calendar to keep track of things. I avoid being too rigid about scheduling, because I don't want to overdo it.

Betablockers are not really anxiolytics. But they do get rid of the *cardiac* symptoms of PD (palpitations, hear racing etc.).

Christina,
Thanks for the birthday wishes, but actually it's not until this Sunday. I wrote that in a strange way and it did sound like it had already passed. My bad : ).
So that makes me an Aquarian. Which means I was already crazy ; ). I am anything but serious. Moody, I'll cop to, and definitely responsible. But serious is not in my vocabulary. To quote the Bare Naked Ladies..."I'm the kind of guy (gal) who'd laugh at a funeral. Can't understand what I mean? You soon will." Oh, I do have bouts of taking things too seriously, but quickly snap out of it after a few head butts to the wall ; ). I have an interest in Astrology, too, btw. If you ever want to chat about it we can take it to email. My mom is really into it as well. I once went to an astrologer who predicted some pretty detailed things, based on my chart, that actually came to pass. I freaked out.
Anyway, I won't drive everyone nuts with that : ). I love Remeron! It is sedating after I take it at night, when I need it to be, but I sleep like a dream and wake fully refreshed. I'm getting the best sleep I have EVER had on this stuff, for almost 3 years now.
Dawn : )

I had bought some hot pink ones, but the kids found them or the hubby takes them away from the puter area and I have to go room to room asking "Who took my post-it pads without asking?" and of course they all say "I dunno...."we have a lot of little creative kiddies in the house that love to draw. I think next color I buy will be canary yellow so they won't be so tempting to use lol....
I had something set up through yahoo to instant message me when I had an appt or needed reminding, but that annoying "POW" sound it made everytime I logged on drove me insane (more so than I am now) so I got rid of that idea. Now I just write things down as soon as I think of something important in a notebook.......only problem with that is my notebook disappears! Back to the kids rooms!!

Hey Jackie,
According to my psychopharm text, beta-blockers can result in insomnia and vivid nightmares.

This gets pretty common for many of us as we age. Anxiety also makes this stuff even worse.
Ralph and I leave notes all over the house. Ralph puts his on the bathroom mirror so he can see them when he gets up. He puts notes to me in my underwear drawer...grin. We both set thingsright in front of the door that we have to take with us when leaving the house.
Take care, Liz

Jackie, I was on Toprol 50mg at bedtime to control my heart rate, but I never had any sleep problems. If anything I believe it causes some drowsiness. I'm sorry to hear you're not sleeping well, though...but I must say that it did not affect my sleep.

Dawn, yes I actually did think that your birthday had passed already LOL......well I'll wish ya a happy birthday THIS Sunday! I've studied astrology since I was about 11 and have been fascinated by it ever since. Over the years I've learned how to do charts, but have never been able to "predict" anyone's future. Astrology helps me to understand personalities. Being an Aquarian (not knowing the rest of your chart) makes you a very friendly person, a humanitarian and fun loving, amongst many other wonderful qualities. I'll have to do your chart later and I'll email you with results (1/25/70 right?) Like I said, I just do it for fun. Most people will say "Oh yes that sounds just like me!!" once I do their chart lol.....anyway good to hear I'm not the only one who believes in it!

Post-it notes for the car! I think that I need some. From time to time I get in the car and start driving to some destination and come to a stop light and discover that I have forgotten where I am going! It comes back to me but it sure is a pain in the butt.

Ha! This is funny. Just last night I had my wife running all over the house looking for a video tape that SOMEONE misplaced. Then this morning I found it in MY sock drawer. I know I must have put it there, but I don't have the faintest recollection of doing so.
>Help! Any suggestions. I do have a datebook that helps, but sometimes I >forget to write things in it. ARRRGH!
First, don't make too big a deal out of it. The anxiety will only make it worse.
Second, you can train your memory. There are books on how to do this. Self-hypnosis is one route.
Third, and this is pertinent to my own situation, you have to avoid trying to do 85 different things at once so you can really focus on what you need to remember. F'rinstance, I need to tell myself, "I am putting this video in this drawer and this is where it will be when I need it." STOP. Look around. Orient yourself. "I will remember this." Etc.
