Dear group,

Sally Alexander passed away last night in her sleep. Her son, Paul, told me
it was probably pneumonia. She had had the flu very bad for about 2 weeks.

I am devastated. We talked online every day for hours, for the last couple
of years. We were sisters, more than if we were blood relatives.

I have asked Paul to send me any information about arrangements, which I
will pass along here.

We were going to find a place to live out our old age in together. I loved
her so much.

I know she got lots of good help here in this group, especially from
Margrove, and so much support from so many. I will miss her so much.

Deirdre

I just came in from raking leaves and there was a message on my answering
machine about Sally. I knew Sally for quite a long time. I talked to her
mother on several occasions... years ago.

Sally, my friend... sail on.

What sad news.... I was fond of Sally and I knew how close the two of
you were. She will be greatly missed and among her friends it is
probably the worst loss for you, dear Deirdre so my heart goes out to
you especially.

I've had computer problems for the last 10 days so haven't been able to
check messages and I was absolutely stunned when one of the first messages I
read here had the subject line "memorial for Sally" . Is it Sally, the "high
anxiety" Sally?. I didn't know her last name till now. She was not that old
and I didn't think she was so sick. I replied to her message 10 days ago
when she said she was sick and I said "you will soon be well" along with
Philip and some others who also sent a Get well type of message, so when I
read this, I can't believe it. I was so shocked I felt faint. I thought she
would probably be over the flu by the time I was able to get my computer
fixed. I never expected this terrible news.

Its so sudden. She must have been sicker than she thought. I thought she
would be getting the H1N1 flu shot when she said she had 10 the H1N1 flu 10
days ago and would soon be well again. Never thought anything like this
would happen. She left us much too soon. I really liked Sally. She was
always very nice and concerned about others. She loved her sons so much. It
will be very difficult for them. Its a great loss for Deirdre too. She will
miss Sally a lot as they were close friends.
I still find it hard to believe. She seemed so full of life. So sad...

Mary, you've summed up my feelings exactly. I haven't been to this group for
a couple of months as I got a new computer and hadn't configured newsgroups
until recently. I too recall reading a post from Sally that she was scared
she had swine flu. And that was only days ago so it came as such a shock to
see how suddenly she passed. She was such an integral part of this support
group. My thoughts go to all who have known her here and IRL.

hugs Mary as I know how close we all feel to each other in here.

Hugs to you too Vanessa. I agree, people here are very supportive. I'm sure
we will all miss Sally. I'm still in shock about it and have been thinking
about her on and off. Its so unexpected. That swine flu can be so dangerous
and so sudden and strikes many younger people. Thousands here every day are
lining up for swine flu shots but only priority groups - not enough vaccine.
