Apparently people can have Phantom Pain for a long time.
I've heard forever, it is different for everyone. Some can have it
for weeks, months, or even longer.

I've had mine periodically since 1983. I don't have them every day but
sometimes I have them throughout the day occasionally. Actually I
don't think I've had any for about a week. Of course now I've just
jynxed myself.
