I want a remote control that talks to both
a TV and a cable box which only has controls
for on/off, volume, and channel. Nothing else!
Having two remote controls is a problem because
the TV must be on channel 3 and TV input to
receive the signal from the cable box. Using
the TV remote control to change channel is
basically an unrecoverable error until I fix it.
(I was thinking it would be nice if the channel
selector and volume were both knobs like on an
old-fashioned TV, but that isn't necessary, yet.)

I'd like a clock with multiple alarm times and
a whiteboard so I can write what should happen
at each time. Each alarm would have a flashing
light on the whiteboard, so you'd know what it is
you're supposed to do now. Like take your pills.

Are any products like these already available?
