Couldn't be, Kirk's shoot-from-the hip command decisions were *successful.*

Obama's overemphasis on bipartisanship in the face of a hostile opponent
clearly makes him Picard, but without the laughable writing of newtrek to
make everyone sing Kumbaya by the end of each episode we are seeing what
would have happened if Picard had been real.

I'd say Dubya was the captain of the USS Equinox in Voyager (the Equinox EMH
being Dick Cheney).

The Kirk analog is obviously Bill Clinton, who has managed to salvage his
image even though he violated the fraternization rules. Not to mention what
happened to his waistline. And are we sure that's really his own hair...?
