Lesbian crush. Not lesbian affair. Learn to read.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reman
" It is suggested, though never explicitly stated, that the Remans are
also descended from Vulcans like the Romulans. The three species share
many similar features such as pointed ears, humanoid appearance, and
limited telepathic abilities. It is also possible, however, that the
Remans were indigenous to Remus. This possibility is supported by the
fact that the Reman written language is at least partially
pictographic and the Romulan written language does not appear to be."

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Reman
According to the novel trilogy Vulcan's Soul, the Remans were
descended from the telepathic Vulcans who refused to give up their
abilities during the exodus to Romulus, and were enslaved by the
majority non-telepaths who became the Romulans.

Vulcans ==> Romulans
==> Remans

Exactly.

He had a spare so there wasn't even tension in his sacrifice.

Watching the film it's like... "Data will die here, and B4 will
replace him".

The explosion of Alderaan was a counterexample. If something large
explodes (or collides) in space it will be s l o w . But it would have
been counterproductive in Star Wars to have the planet explode so slowly
it would take five minutes before you could see anything.

Why would it necessarily be slow when it's a matter of scale.

True, but the image were saw was probably Earth-from-the-Moon sized.
That's less than 1.5 light seconds away. Obviously Alderaan could be
bigger, but it would still be a matter of light seconds.

A planet wouldn't explode like Krypton, no matter how much energy you
pumped into it. It would fall apart, and it would likely take a while
to do so. The pieces would all come together again and reform a sphere
within a few decades, and the New Alderaanians would be pretty pissed
off.

It'd be much easier to blow up the local sun. That'd get rid of 'em,
you betcha.

Not true. If you pumped enough energy into it, many of the fragments
would achieve escape velocity and fly away. Of course there's no good
reason to use that much energy on something so pointless.

Not in the Alderaan scenario. The Death Star had FTL capability, so it

It of course depends on how far away you are, but when an object that's
moving at thousands of miles per hour through space explodes, the pieces
will be moving even faster - much faster than anything you'll see on Earth
moving.

No, I never watched enough to know. Someone said "crush" which
