Red shirts seem more agile than Clone Troopers. IMHO.

Could be... And phasers are rather powerful too. And have a wide beam
setting so the Troopers can be zapped easily.

But what if they have the typical Red Shirt (bad) luck?

Imagine:

Clone Troopers shooting, and hitting nothing but trees.
But the trees explode and the splinters entering the Red Shirts contain
venom!
With their last breath they switch the phasers to overload, they explode
killing the Troopers also.
The forrest is set on fire.
Very little evidence is found later on.
And the mystery continues.....
