Where do these raiders come from?

i have been going over the season 1 epps of Bab 5, and some others including
thirdspace.

WHERE the hell do these raiders come from. Every second week there is
another squadron attacking shipping. HOW do they get their ships when they
are always being blown up? Why do they continue to operate??

Works the same way that pirates did. They grabbed ships, looted em and
either sunk em or upgraded em to be used as warships. Not up to military
standards, but good enough vs freighters and such. Either that or they get
old military hardware off the blackmarket, or they are backed up covertly by
an alien race.

Rewatch "Signs and Portents". As for Thirdspace, at that time they had
had sufficient time to replenish their forces.
