(3) ART CONTEST (Deadline extended to March 6, 2003)

We're now accepting submissions for the T-Shirt and Crew Pin.
You don't even have to be an artist to take part - our Art
Department can take any ideas, rough or fine, and prepare the
final art for reproduction.
Please read the following guidelines before you begin. If you
have any questions, please send an e-mail to tc...@icomm.ca and
mark it to the attention of the Art Department. They will
respond ASAP.
SALES T-SHIRT:
=============
The design should fit within an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper
(vertical or horizontal). Using black only, it must be drawn
as "line art" -- no shading or half-tones. Gradations 'can'
be used but the lines must be clean and sharp. Avoid thin
lines and small detail as they might get lost due to being
printed onto fabric. Also, avoid copyrighted elements such
as Starfleet emblems, etc.
CREW PIN:
========
The design can be any shape, but must fit within a one inch
circle. It shouldn't be too complex or detailed, and should
avoid thin lines. Use a maximum of two 'spot' colours, meaning
they can be ANY 'stand-alone' colours such as blue, black, red,
yellow, white, etc., but cannot be mixed to create a third.
The colours cannot touch nor overlap. Each colour must sit
within its own area(s) which will be stamped into your choice
of silver or gold metal. Note: not all stamped-in areas have
to be filled with colour. Take a look at some of the previous

We recommend you incorporate the following information into your

Submissions by e-mail must be received by Midnight Thursday, March 06,
2003.
- Include your full name and contact information.
- Full credit will be given to each artist.
- Finalists for both the T-Shirt and Crew Pin art will be
selected by the TT17 convention committee in March. Artwork
does not need to be print-ready, just in a state for voting.
- All submissions become property of Toronto Trek. We reserve
the right to make any necessary (minor) alterations for the
purposes of graphic reproduction.
To enter via e-mail, send your design(s) to tc...@icomm.ca in one of
the following formats: JPG, GIF or EPS. Include "Art Contest"
in the subject line. Although EPS files are best for vector-art,
our Art Department also accepts CorelDraw (versions 5 to 9 for PC
only) and Adobe Illustrator (up to version 10 for Mac / up to version
7 for PC). You may send them as WinZip for PC or SIT for Mac.

The Regal Constellation Hotel is accepting bookings for Toronto
Trek 17, July 11-13, 2003. Before you call we recommend you have
the following information ready: your full credit card information,
what room type you want, when you plan to arrive and depart. Also
have a pen and paper ready to note the time, phone number,
operator's name and the confirmation number they will give you.
This will help us IF you have any problems.

forget to mention you are attending Toronto Trek to get the Toronto
Trek room rates. Remember by staying at the Regal Constellation
Hotel you help keep our cost down, thank-you.
